    Bold predictions: 2017 edition

Alright, why not start one of these?

    My BOLD predictions are:
    1. We trade for Quintana and Frazier, sending Newcomb, Albies, Fried (NOOO) to Chicago (It's a lot, but hey, whatevah, these are my predictions!)
    2. We sign Wieters, who actually goes on to hit .275+ with 25 bombs and 80 RBI
    3. Matt Kemp hits .282/.345 with 40 bombs and 115 RBI
    4. Freeman wins MVP and slashes an astounding .310/.415 35 homers
    5. Folty goes 180+ IP with an ERA under 3.50 and 200 Ks.

    1. Dickey is the biggest positive surprise relative to expectations

    2. Colon goes to the DL early in the season to be replaced by Wisler who pitches well enough to hold his spot in the rotation.

    3. We trade for Sonny Gray at the deadline.

    1. Both Colon and Dickey have injury and inconsistency plagued seasons.
    2. Kemp shows up "in the best shape of his life" a shortly thereafter pulls a muscle and spends a month on the DL.
    3. Markakis begins to fade and is untradeable by mid-season.
    4. Inciarte plays well at LO, good defense in CF, ends up ~4 WAR.
    5. Freeman hits .300 with 30HR, ends up ~6 WAR.
    6. J Garcia pitches well and is traded at the deadline.
    7. Teheran starts slow, battles inconsistency, finishes strong for equivalent year 2016=2017
    8. Swanson hits about .275 with 15HR over a full season and plays OK defense, ends up ~2-3 WAR.
    9. Johnson implodes as closer and loses his job to Viz who implodes and loses his job to Lucas Sims
    10. Kelly Johnson is signed for LH bench help and is traded to the Mets at the deadline.
    11. Young pitching begins to come on.

    Braves finish 75-87

    1. Jaime Garcia has a tremendous season and we decide to keep him so we can offer him a QO and net a pick
    2. Jose Ramirez becomes our new closer at some point
    3. Aaron Blair is a big surprise and outpitches Wisler and Folty (as Folty spends half the season on the DL)
    4. David Freitas becomes our backup catcher over Tuffy and Decker
    5. Sean Rodriguez hits 25 homeruns

    -Folty becomes an ace
-AJ Minter finishes the season as the primary setup man or closer
-Dickey's knuckle ball plays well back in the NL
    -Colon runs out of steam
-Garcia plays well but gets injured before we can trade him for anything of value
    -Inciarte becomes a star
    -Freeman be Freeman

    1) Touki Toussaint breaks out, becoming the top pitching prospect in the organization, and when Albies graduates the would-be top prospect if not for the fact that:

    2) Kevin Maitan is as good as advertised, hitting well enough to make the Braves think long and hard about letting him end the year in Rome.

    3) The Braves end the season with three top 20 prospects: Touki, Maitan and Acuņa. They add in an additional 7 Top 100 guys with Allard, Newcomb, Anderson, Fried, Soroka, Weigel and Gohara.

    4) Dansby wins ROTY with a 3-WAR season.

    5) Albies takes over 2B by July.

    6) The bullpen becomes a strength by late July with our young flame throwers taking over.

    7) Swanson, Freeman and Inciarte make the All Star Game.

    8) AJ Minter comes up around August and becomes our best reliever by the end of the year.

    9) The Fire Frogs win their league title and win over 65% of their games.

    10) Matt Wisler takes over for Dickey by July and puts up a solid season.

My bold prediction is that none of these happen. I think the one with the best chance is #5.

My one bold prediction is that we don't trade any of our current top 20 prospects before the end of the season.
