I probably don't have a legit reason, but I always hated Blauser as well. I seem to remember him making boneheaded plays in crucial moments.

Maybe I was alone in loving Lofton. Was so pissed we traded Justice and Grissom then he frigging re-signs with Cleveland. We gave them a whole outfield. How great could we have been with Lofton getting on base for Chipper through his prime years.

Blauser had a couple of awful years...mixed with good ones. I can understand some hate. I never much cared for belliard though.

Yeah but braves weren't re-signing Justice.

I think it's abundantly clear from this post that Dalton hates hispanics.

    Or maybe just Cubans.

I would have to say Dave Gallagher. Hate that guy.

Also Curtis Pride. Asked him for an autograph on multiple occasions and he totally ignored me. Guess fame changes some people.

Justice had two years left on his contract when traded. Was traded along with Grissom because they had signed Neagle to an extension in the offseason and they needed to move payroll. They got Lofton and Embree (Lofton's salary mirrored Grissom) and Justice was about $2M higher that Neagle. 2 Days after they traded Justice, they traded Dye for Tucker and Lockhart.

Beginning of the end of the Braves dynasty.

Not entirely correct. Dye traded two days after Justice.

You know the Braves could have saved themselves some heartache just by keeping Schmidt and Dye. The Dye trade never made a ton of sense to me, but I did not remember it was the same time as the Justice trade.

I understood moving Justice's contract -- wasn't there someone else they wanted to extend coming up as well?

Terry Forster was the one that, IIRC, young and smarmy David Letterman called "a fat tub of goo."

That may be who you're thinking of, but pretty much everyone who pitched for us in the 80s was fat.

Man, think about those dudes. All that doubleknit polyester with the expando-top pants. Forster was a pig. Bob Horner then Ken Oberkfell...it seems we had to have a fat guy with a blonde Afro at third. Zane Smith had no chin. Dale Murphy would have been a good looking guy except for the enormous carbuncle on his cheek...Rick Mahler was a chubby guy with bad hair. Even when they got it going, they were some ugly dudes. Otis "Penitentiary Face" Nixon. Maddux is the only HOF pitcher who looks like a child molester. Blauser could have split his chin with Z Smith and that would have worked well.

We had some ugly teams. Good thing ball players make good money, they wouldn't have gotten laid at all.

Russ Ortiz - I just couldn't watch our games when he pitched. Every inning he put at least two guys on base and the games drug on at a snail's pace.

Ortiz is a good one. Never enjoyed a 20-game winner less.

Wickman. Mr. Cox will decide your role, if any.

    Kolb. Horrible.

Surhoff. Made no secret of the fact that he didn't want to be here.

Fat Melky. An all star elsewhere, a mountain of steaming horse**** here. Out of shape, checked out...aren't there ways to get steroids in Atlanta?
