Allard has a better FB/Curve combo?

Groome: "Groome works with a 90-95 mph fastball that peaks at 97 with armside run, and he could throw harder as he gets stronger. Nevertheless, his best pitch is a curveball with power and depth that many evaluators believed was the best breaking ball in the 2016 Draft."

Allard: "His fastball will sit in the low-90s, with the ability to reach back for a little more when needed. But what really makes it stand out is the cutter-like movement to it and his ability to command it well. Allard has one of the better breaking balls in the Minors, a plus curve"

How exactly does that translate to "Allard has a better 1-2 combo with fastball and curve"?

Groome also hasn't already had multiple back surgeries, so his stock is justifiably higher right now.

Whatever, we agree it's not a stretch to rank Groome ahead of Allard.

If by, "not a stretch", you mean, "perfectly reasonable", we are in complete agreement!

Sorry to bring facts into the discussion though.

You're condescending when you agree, too? Goodness.

These quotes don't really show that Groome's combo is better. Allard may not throw quite as hard, but they're in the same general range, and Allard's seems like it may have more movement. And I'm pretty sure Allard's curve was considered the best in the 2015 draft.

Can Groome pitch even a little bit before he makes this list?

If thats the case then they better vote Maitan as one of the top 10 hitters in the minor leagues.

I don't really have a problem with a scouting service coming up with an opinion that differs from most, or certainly that differs from mine. I just take issue with a service ranking differently than they themselves have evaluated. It doesn't make sense.

Since when do you consider scouting reports facts?
