    June draft order finalized

    Braves pick 5th, 41st, 80th, 110th, 140th, etc.

Should be some draft icing on the cake with those first two picks.

So what two pitchers are we looking at for the 5th and 41st picks?

I'll roll the dice with Jordan Adell and Kade McClure -- both from Louisville.

Zach Daniels from Eagles Landing at 80th.

Hey Rico, any plans on starting a draft thread soon? Really enjoyed the one we had last year.

Gonna finish my prospect project first. Don't want to compete with myself too much. This thread will do for now.

I'm hoping a stud bat will emerge and is available but I have a feeling it'll be the top HS pitcher on the board.

I would ask if there are any names we're considering, but Ian Anderson came out of the blue last year so what's the point?
    thank you weso1!

The problem is if a stud bat emerges; he's probably not going to be there at #5.

That's the price of winning a couple meaningless games at the end last year.

And the price of playing one fewer game than our competition.

I dunno there are some really interesting college ones at this point. Of course things will change dramatically, but their seems to be 4-5 college pitchers worthy of a top 5 pick right now.

I like a lot of college arms in this draft and think that's our best bet if Kendall goes before 5 as most expect. It would create an interesting situation though. If we draft Faedo or Wright as SEC arms that have dominated that caliber of competition, I'd imagine they should be started in Double A in 2018. That puts them right on track with Allard, Soroka, Touki, Sanchez and Gohara. Awful crowded in that timeline, but obviously best available is still the way to go in the draft.

I agree. There are gonna be a ton of options at 5. If Faedo is there it would be very hard for me to pass up on him.

They would have taken the 3b from Tennessee for sure and maybe the kid that went #1 if I recall their post draft commentary correctly.

Just the Tarheel in me, but Bukauskas would be a favorite target personally - worst-case scenario could have Weigel setting him up as soon as Johnson's deal is up.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Looking forward to following this. Our system is amazing as is. The fact that we get to add some top flight 'spects to it makes me giddy

    No thank you.

I think my top four are Jeren Kendall, Hunter Greene, Alex Faedo and Kyle Wright.

As a UF fan, I've watched Faedo a lot and am a huge fan. The slider is really good, doesn't walk many and sits 92-6. Changeup is workable. UF has produced a lot of pitching in recent years, and I'd take Faedo over every other UF arm.
