Those are the only years Cox managed a losing record in September once he returned.

They're saying Gattis's first home run went 486 ft. JESUS.
In Fredi's defense, the team went 19-8 in September last year.
Hot and cold team. Both professional sports teams in Atlanta failed embarrassingly today (thanks, Failcons). They each personally made this weekend suck. Hope the Braves are hot when the play-offs start because, if so, they can look unstoppable! If they're cold and flat like this weekend vs. the Philthies, they're nauseatingly BAD!
It's hard to recover from a 9 - 18 September.
The Falcons were far from embarrassing, they went on the road in a tough environment and came up three yards short. It's a long season. The good news is their defense seems to be much improved. They played well. I wouldn't worry too much about that loss today. The Braves, on the other hand are a different story, their offense right now just really, really sucks and it's the reason they're losing. I know the lead is still 12 games, but I still can't get 2011 out of my head.
Agreed completely. Only thing that pissed me off with the Falcons was that dropped pass. They'll be a playoff team and hopefully playing their best football when the postseason rolls around.
As for the Braves, you can **** about the bullpen all you want, but this offense is **** right now, and it shows. Not enough guys stepping up. Don't even have much confidence going into Miami this week.
This team's performance (like a lot of other teams) really turns on having a leadoff guy who is getting on base and making things happen. They looked best with Heyward there. And Schafer at times has done a good job setting the table. Without one of those two hitting well, we look pretty ordinary offensively.
As for the pen, I think we'll be ok. Assuming Walden comes back in a week or so and works into his usual form during the last ten games of the season. Without Walden we have an extra inning we have to mix and match and that is going to tax this pen.
I'd like to see Schaefer lead off and anyone else play 2B
I just think they ran into 2 really fantastic pitching performances and Freddie Garcia gave up a HR.
his first run as a Brave if not mistaken. that's baseball
