MLB Pipeline has been releasing their top 100

    4 - Swanson
    11 - Albies
    32 - Maitan
    53 - Allard
    78 - Soroka
    80 - Newcomb
    86 - Anderson

I think these outlets have gone too far in being aggressive on guys who haven't really done anything yet.

Yeah, that's beyond stupid. And the guys who were just drafted/signed, or guys who have just played in rookie ball, are way too high in general to me.

The only possible explanation is lack of playing time. But combine that with the fact that they have Maitan at 32, and I'm really confused.

No doubt. Fried should be there too. The likes of maitan and groome. Nope. Let them play first. Even Lewis should be held off with his injury. Mid season updates are more interesting to me anyway. Congrats on Andrew becoming number one.

Basically, we're he just drafted at 7, Fried would be top 40. But because he was drafted 7 several years ago and pitched well, with injury in between, he's not in the top 100. I get that the injury does play in and he's now older for his level, but I don't really get that.

Lewis was the #10 OF and #29 overall.

By my count, there are 23 OF on the list. It's pretty surprising Acuna isn't one of them. But this is the outlet who still had him 18 in our system before this update, so...

A Fried omission here - or on subsequent Top 100s - is the one that strikes me as one that will most likely be looked back upon as a rather large oversight. Possibly has as much potential "fast-riser" helium as any arm out there right now IMO.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Acuna omission makes no sense in might if the other kids in the list with 's all samples of playing time.

Fried just makes absolutely no sense and it will be an embarrassing oversight as soon as June of next season when he is dominating AA.

I think Fried is definitely a top 100 guy, but we do have to realize that he's had TJ, and while he was dominant at the end of last year, his total season numbers aren't great for a 22-year-old in A. I can't get too upset if somebody doesn't put him in. Acuna, in the other hand, has scouting reports that are easily top 100 and hit really well as an 18-year-old in A when healthy. That one defies reason.

Just a personal thing for me - I don't disagree with the reasons for leaving him off, I just think he'll also be the one that'll be the most glaring omission and draw the most "why in the world wasn't he on the list?" gasps following a handful of 2017 starts. One of those "damned if you do, damned if you don't" prospects.

It's a bit silly to have Maitan in the top third and not have Acuna on the list. If the knock on Acuna is he didn't have enough ABs, why isn't that keeping guys who haven't even had a pro AB yet from getting on the list?

Unless Maitan comes up and shows out, his status will be suffering from prospect fatigue by the time he turns 18.
