Khan, the first Muslim mayor of a Western capital city, said he read the half-dozen tweets or so not to "be portrayed as a victim" or "ask for sympathy," but to "illustrate that big tech has further to go in making the internet free of hate speech."
"But ask yourself this: What happens when young boys and girls from minority backgrounds see this kind of thing on their timelines or experience this themselves?" Khan said.
Khan said that tweets like the ones addressed to him send a message to these children that if they don't look a certain way or subscribe to the same establishment beliefs, they will grow up thinking there's no path for them in high-profile careers.
"We simply must do more to protect people online," Khan said.
Khan urged companies like Facebook and Twitter to show "a stronger duty of care" so that "social-media platforms can live up to their promises to connect, unify, and democratize the sharing of information and be places where everyone feels welcomed and valued."
The London mayor suggested that Facebook and Twitter remove offensive content and misinformation faster and face fines if they don't.
....
"This isn't about depriving people of free speech — this is about inciting hatred," Khan said. "This is about things that divide our community."

A transgender woman is suing Tinder on behalf of other transgender people living in the Portland area, claiming it rejects all transgender people from the dating service.
Ariel Hawkins claims in a new lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, a few days ago she edited her profile to disclose that she was a pre-op trans woman. She says Tinder immediately deleted her account. She says the company sent her email saying she violated its terms of service ... but didn't point her to any term and refused to explain the basis for the rejection.

We've simply over corrected the initial problem.

Everybody knows what's happening but those on the left don't care because it's helping them. We live in a sad state where things like this are accepted.
Do you have names ?
Instances ?
or just something you "know"

The best way to stop a bad guy with a gun is to make sure he doesn’t get a gun.
There is a movement in this country where it should be diverse at all costs regardless if said diversity is actually qualified or good. The recent movie Wrinkle In Time is a good example. It's very diverse from the director to the cast but by all accounts it's not a very good movie. But there is a push to to support it just because of it's diversity and if you don't like the movie then you are either racist or sexist. This line of thinking is happening a lot and is pretty absurd.

To me calling for diversity in MLB is pretty hilarious anyways. It's the most diverse sport of the big 3 in America. It just lacks in one particular minority (which dominates the other two of the big 3) which causes uproar from some people for some reason. To me it would be better to look at it from the standpoint of professional athletes as a whole regardless of the sport they play. I would say that paints a fair representation.

Though telling, the previous 3 posts never explained " bandwagoners" or names and instances.
Sorry but never heard of that movie
Not to get all Sturggy on you, but that wasn't the question.
What is a "bandwagoner" for a paycheck
Would you consider the Black Lives Matters "bandwagoners" or the NFL players that knelt "bandwagoners"
95% of all movies made are terrible for a multitude of reasons.
Name an instance where social grievance ( racial, genderwise, was advanced without calls for more diversity or even more radical calls
Curious I am

Over corrected in Hollywood sure, but outside of that bubble the problem wasnt fixed. Right now there are cops highly saturating poor black areas needing x amount of arrests and fines to meet his quota so he dont lose out on a promotion in the future. Oh did I say quota? I meant activity requirement. Totally not the same thing.

I think that there's a bit of myopia at work here. In the cited case of the HuffPo Opinion thing sturg posted, what reason is there to believe that the work of the diverse group of opinion writers they were citing didn't meet their editorial standards (I mean, it is Huffington Post, but still...)? I suspect that their market desires diversity in that context. It's Ben Shapiro (who runs a pretty weak shop himself) who comes off looking small for trying to go for a cheap point here.
As for the other stuff...I mean, if there weren't well-documented historical inequities and barriers to entry based on race, sex, and class across society, y'all might have more of a point. When you're inside the bubble, sometimes it's hard to recognize there's a bubble.
For those that knelt this past year during the anthem I would say most of them care about not being told what they can or can't do. It really became an issue after Trump, who is perceived to be a racist among other things, said players that do it should be fired, etc. Then you saw it widespread across the league. At that point I believe it was more against Trump and not about the targeting of black people by white cops.
And 'they' is simply referring to the two groups you mentioned.
