    Per the comments:

    75.
Gohara fell in a record-keeping gap because of the trade. I fixed it.

    comments on Maitan #98

COMMENT: Maitan is the difficult slotting here. If you go by pure tools, he should be in the Top 50, or the Top 20, or even in the Top 10. But he hasn’t played yet, he turned 17 yesterday, and this is a hybrid list between pure upside and present ability. We have no idea how his marvelous tools will translate into a professional environment until he gets a chance to show us. If you are looking for long-term upside as opposed to a short or medium term horizon, bump him way up the list.

just a loaded system right now.

Lots of guys outside that top-200 that are still pretty exciting, kids like Muller, Jackson, and Cruz.

So we have 14, and the Rays are the only other team with more than 10? Even then, six of the Rays prospects on the list are from 162-200.

We have 14 and the rest of the NL East combines for 19.

The Marlins have ONE in the top-200, and he's 158th..........UUUGH - that's barren. Like their farm system is in the dust-bowl.

Looks like Cards, Rays, Dodgers and Indians might have to be included in my overall value calculations. Will be interesting to see how these teams line up behind the Braves in total farm system value.

Cards seem to always have a top farm system.

I like this list the best of any I've seen, not because the Braves have so many top prospects, but more where everyone is ranked. I like Maitan being lower than most places had him. I think it's silly to put him as high as some have when he hasn't played a game yet. Same with Anderson. He's played but doesn't have near enough of a track record to put him higher than he his here. I like the aggressive rankings for Allard and Soroka. I think they deserve to be there. And I like how Newcomb hasn't fallen as low as some have him. Still think he should be a bit higher than he is though.

I wonder what the delta is between elite prospects and major league average players

IOW is it better to have 2-3 super prospects who turn into yearly AllStar guys, say 4-5 win type guys and nothing else in your system OR is it better to have 14 guys that contribute at the ML me level but never star?

I would take the all star scenario because the avg guys can be found easier than finding the all star guys externally

A difference between high end and high volume prospects. Ideally you would have both

Whalen is not that good. I would set the minimum at 120 innings and make it three years. Even then, I dunno if he would get more than 3 WAR cumulatively.

I would rather bet on Jackson doing poorly if I were aiming to bet on the same point.
