    Dustin Peterson thread (renamed)

Braves outfield prospect Dustin Peterson will be out for at least eight weeks after surgery on a fractured hamate bone in his left hand, according to McAuley. Injured it Wednesday.

Hamate bone was fracture that derailed Bob Horner's career for at least a year.

Isn't this what derailed Jordan Schafer?

Hope for recovery, but this can be a really rough injury for a hitter.

Thought Schafer was a wrist problem. Still think lack of steroids is what derailed him

David Ortiz, Jim Thome, Jose Canseco, Jay Gibbons, and Eric Hinske are among those major league players who have had the bone removed

hey, i was at a game in tampa when thome had his hand broken by a pitch. wow.

anyway, peterson appears to be hitting well since his return. he's a guy who has gotten better and better with each stop and i'm greatly looking forward to what's coming with him. he alone could make this rebuild look a little better before long.

I agree with you, I think Peterson can be a decent OF for the big club. He put in good work last year.

Perhaps they, like Mookie Betts, Dustin Pedroia, and Giancarlo Stanton, should have been swinging an Axe.
