    Not Even Pretending any longer

Secretary of State Tillerson about to embark on first major trip to Asia in the midst of North Korean crisis.

    Not bringing any reporters.

Not bringing press on a trip like that is unusual & insulting to any American who is looking for anything but a state-run version of events

On Jan. 25, President Donald Trump signed an executive order promising to strip funding from the so-called sanctuary cities that have vowed to defy his plan to deport millions of undocumented immigrants. Whether and how the order can be enforced is yet unclear, but it sent an unsubtle message to cities like New York, Chicago and Los Angeles: Resistance will not be tolerated.

Nothing says secure in your own position like being followed around by a team of your own special guards.

While the draft budget for the EPA obtained by the Washington Post this month shows massive cuts to environment, health, and climate change programs—including the elimination of a program to prevent childhood exposure to lead paint—it also includes a request to hire 10 additional security guards to create an around-the-clock personal security detail for Pruitt, the New York Times reports.

This Pruittorian Guard would be a first for an EPA director. In fact, it would be twice the size of the security staff for the whole agency. Just who is Pruitt worried about?

What security menace is Pruitt guarding against? According to Myron Ebell, who led Trump’s EPA transition team but is no longer employed by the administration, Pruitt is at risk from his own employees—and “the left.”

Ebell was all in favor of cutting the EPA by two-thirds, and would likely be open to the suggestion that the remaining one-third should be all security forces empowered to punch “the left.” Certainly it’s worth cutting programs like those that protect millions of kids from the real danger of lead so that Pruitt can feel secure against contact with dirty hippies.

And Pruitt isn’t the only one who is adding on some private muscle.

Similarly, security detail for education secretary Betsy DeVos has reached unprecedented levels: Typically, the secretary of education is guarded by about six agents from within the Department of Education. Since her contentious confirmation, DeVos has been under the protection of the US Marshals Service, costing $8 million over eight months.

It’s Flip-Flop Week in the Trump White House, and in keeping with this theme Mike Pompeo used his first speech as CIA director to go after WikiLeaks, calling it “a non-state hostile intelligence service often abetted by state actors like Russia.”

“WikiLeaks walks like a hostile intelligence service and talks like a hostile intelligence service,” Pompeo said during his remarks at the Center for Strategic and International Studies on Thursday. He noted that the organization had encouraged people to steal CIA secrets (such as the recent revelation that they can hack your TV) and “it overwhelmingly focuses on the United States while seeking support from antidemocratic countries.”

Pompeo also took aim at WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, calling him “a narcissist who has created nothing of value,” as well as a “fraud” and “a coward hiding behind a screen.” “In Kansas, we know something about false wizards,” added Pompeo, who was a U.S. representative from the state until Trump tapped him to lead the CIA.

This certainly isn’t a strange view for a U.S. intelligence official, but it’s odd to hear it coming from Pompeo. As WikiLeaks pointed out, last summer he tweeted out a conservative blog post about the Democratic National Committee emails stolen by Russia and posted by WikiLeaks.

The tweet has since been deleted, and during his confirmation hearing in January Pompeo suggested he didn’t remember it.

Trump has made a similar but less dramatic shift. During the campaign he declared, “We love WikiLeaks,” and in January he appeared to side with Assange over the U.S. intelligence agencies regarding their conclusion that Russians hacked the DNC. Last month, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said Americans should be “outraged” by the leak of CIA spying techniques, but Trump hasn’t explicitly condemned the group.

On Thursday Pompeo said his relationship with President Trump is “fantastic” despite his previous clash with intelligence agencies. “No, don’t laugh,” Pompeo said. “I mean that.”

Aren't those Swiss guards like they use at the Vatican and didn't Michelangelo design those ugly assed outfits?

“We're going to get paid for it one way or the other," Sessions said on ABC's This Week. "I know there's $4 billion a year in excess payments, according to the Department of the Treasury's own inspector general several years ago, that are going to payments to people — tax credits that they shouldn't get.”

"Now, these are mostly Mexicans," he continued. "And those kind of things add up — $4 billion a year for 10 years is $40 billion. There are a lot of ways we can find money to help pay for this."

Not only is this goblin racist as all hell, he has no clue what he’s talking about. First of all, the report he cites makes no mention of Mexicans, or any other nationality for that matter. According to the most recent data from Pew, Mexicans make up about half of the undocumented immigrant population in the U.S. But to Sessions and his white nationalist buddies, all undocumented immigrants are Mexicans. And if they’re all Mexicans, they must love their public benefits. Which brings up the second matter:

I get a real kick over Republican outsiders.
Because though Rep like Amash and Senators like McCain sell them selves as "rebels" or "mavericks" they seem to tow the party line.
    Talk the talk.

But the walk the walk is a totally, a 180 degree turnaround.

Here is the lastest. Remember Ben Sasse and how he was opposed to Trump and gave speeches and released PR statements proclaiming his independence from party politics --- well, appears Trump hid his balls too
    100% reliable

Don't take my word for it, 538 has compiled his votes.
We have a who what when where and the why is pretty obvious -- he got no spine. That is the generous interpretation

at what point do people quit falling for this nonsense ?

For those keeping score Tom Price was the one who as a Congressman on the committee that oversaw pharmaceuticals used inside knowledge to buy and sell medicines.
Then lied about it under oath.

Remember when posters were tripping over themselves with self righteous judgement that HRC was " corrupt " for using her position to (in the primaries ) outflank Sen Sanders ?
    Good times .

Would love to hear updates from those people on the nature of corruption.
