Amusing to think anyone knows what major league draft boards look like. There is so much misinformation out their planted by teams intentionally. It's all a guessing game and anyone who pretends to know who BPA is doesn't understand how the system works.

However, Anderson was not BPA at #3 (the B stands for "best", and by definition, there is only one).

I have no issue with what the Braves did in the draft overall (even though I would have preferred Lewis), but posi-Braves that insist on calling Anderson BPA at #3 are wrong, period. Literally nobody unaffiliated with the Braves agrees with the argument he was BPA. Nobody. Anywhere. Ever.

For some reason, the posi-Braves throw a tantrum any time someone mentions Anderson wasn't BPA as if it means we think he is nothing more than org filler, and they start foaming at the mouth while they attempt to prove that he was despite all evidence pointing to the contrary. Just because a guy wasn't BPA doesn't make him a bad prospect...it doesn't mean he won't be a good player...it just means he wasn't BPA at the time.
You are far more rabid in your insistence that there is no way on earth the Braves viewed him as BPA than anyone who has said they may have.

Bet you $1 when I somehow insinuate that Anderson wasn't BPA in a post next week, at least 2 posi-Braves jump in to throw a tantrum about it.

Keep fighting the good fight. It's so brave and intelligent of you to take on a legion of phantom posters.

You post something, someone tries to have a discussion with you about it = you saying people throw a tantrum.

Nobody except you is really throwing a tantrum here. I make a simple post pointing out draft grades for the pitchers and how Anderson stacks up to any of them.

In a weak class, the Braves took a pitcher that was ranked similarly to the guys also taken around him. And yet someone wants to really bitch about BPA???

I'm not saying Anderson definitely was BPA. I have zero way of knowing that, but how anyone can so profoundly say he wasn't BPA without any evidence whatsoever is beyond comprehension .

You have no way of knowing how the Braves or other teams viewed Anderson. It's entirely possible that the perceived difference between Anderson and someone like Groom or Pint was so minimal, that we simply went with the player who we knew would take under slot.

This would be a great year for the Braves to trade down in the draft to the ~10 slot. They could add another pick, and then take whichever lottery ticket from the group of Adell/Beck/Baz dropped to them at 10.

And 2018 would be a great year for the Braves to spend close to $1 billion on free agents.

Which is why they moved to the new ballpark. Those extra ticket sales added to the extra Swanson jersey sales over the last few months should just about cover it.

Get enough trash talk started in the cornhole tournaments, and the real men should just flock to it.

Talk about the rich getting richer - Mayo has Beck sliding all the way to the Yankees in his latest mock...

Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

From Heyman today, great news on McKay:

The Braves take high-ceiling high school guys in the draft, so the smart money sees them taking either California prep shortstop Royce Lewis, North Carolina prep left-hander Mackenzie Gore or prep outfielder Austin Beck. All agree Beck has great tools, though Lewis is seen as a talent that’s a little more of a sure thing. They won’t take Louisville first baseman/pitcher Brendan McKay, also because they have Freddie Freeman, and now Matt Adams.
