    4. Beck
    5. Lewis

Then in order of most risky:

    1. Adell
    2. Gore
    3. Beck
    4. Greene
    5. Lewis

Greene is a TOR guy, but all HS pitchers are inherently risky, which is why a RHed prep pitcher has never gone #1 overall.

Adell is the highest upside hitter, but also the highest risk hitter.

Gore has solid MOR potential, but again, HS arms are very risky.

Beck has the profile of a middle of the order corner OFer, but his lack of ABs vs elite competition makes him a bit of a risk.

Lewis has the lowest upside, but his defensive profile also makes him the least risky.
Based on pure upside Bukasukas is way up there. Wright is as well.

Wouldn't mind taking a chance on Shane Baz or D.L Hall just to throw some other names that seem to be a little less mentioned.

Given that he could stick at short, Royce Lewis strikes me as the highest upside guy in this year's draft.

Haha...we're talking about the Braves. It will most likely end up being someone that none of us are even talking about. Don't be surprised if it's a pitcher also.

I'm not discounting their upside simply because they're college players. I definitely think it's possible to have college players with as much, or more, upside as the top HS players. I just don't think it's true this year. I agree with Enscheff that all 5 of those HS players have a higher upside than the top college guys.

McKay, Wright, and Bukauskas are certainly good prospects. But McKay is certainly valued more for his floor than his upside. He could be a good-hitting 1B or a solid rotation piece. I don't see him as either a masher (and he has little value elsewhere as a position player) or a TOR guy. I think Greene and Gore both clearly have more upside as pitchers.

I think Wright has the biggest upside of the top college guys, but I still don't think he gets quite to Greene or Gore there. And Bukauskas is intriguing, but he's essentially a two-pitch pitcher, so I think his value comes in that if he doesn't make it as a big-time starter, he would be a shut-down RP. But again, I don't think he has the full repertoire that Greene or Gore could eventually bring.

Me, too. And I think that's the direction we'd go even if we were at 2-3, assuming Greene goes 1. We clearly like the HS talent.

    MLB.com's new mock: http://m.mlb.com/news/article/229743...icid=151437456

Their draft goes McKay, Greene, Gore, Lewis, Wright.

I really like Kyle Wright, and while I understand the love for a lot of the HS players, he'd be a really good get for us. I just don't think it happens.

If Gore is gone by the time we pick, then I think we're absolutely going Beck with an outside chance of Adell. It's pretty uneducated, but it would be hard to see us doing anything else. I don't think Baz or Hall are guys we would take there.

Beyond Royce Lewis, I'm not as impressed by the remaining high school hitters. I think the MLB mock with us taking Wright makes sense. I'm keeping my fingers crossed Lewis drops to us.

To each his own. I love Beck and Adell and like them both more than Lewis.

I just don't think Wight has a shot at getting to us. College players always go higher than expected. I don't think he gets out of the top three. But I'm with you on Lewis over the other HS hitters.

I'd rather have Lewis than Wright or Gore. So I'm hoping they get taken ahead of Lewis and he drops to us.
