This last series that Nick played against the frogs. Our elite prospects made him look silly. I do recall him getting a hit
Or two against our bullpen. The non prospect types. The only time he reached base against our starters was against Pike. Not that means anything really. Just thought our starters in that 4 game set did fantastic.

To be fair to Fredi it's hard to tell the difference from how he manages in April and how he manages in October.

Mock drafts now are obviously useless, but it's at least something to talk about. This one has Kendall to us at 5: http://m.herosports.com/mlb/mock-dra...vin-smith-c6c6

At this point (admittedly still too early as you mention), I'd be pretty happy with any of Beck, Kendall, or Bukauskas personally.

Having had many first had looks at Brendan McKay I truly hope we get him. If we don't I would LOVE to get Jordan Adell from here in Louisville Ballard High School. Kid is UNREAL.

My hope is that Beck and Adell continue to look great and one is available. After those two, I'd take Lewis.

McKay is the one guy I don't want because he feels like a limited ceiling. I think that's why he's the one guy that doesn't make sense for us given the front office's preference to draft ceiling.

I would not be pumped if the Braves end up with a "speedy" guy that Ks a lot.

If that's how the draft shakes out I'd rather see the Braves take a chance on a potential impact bat in Adell, or take the best arm available.

As Beck and Greene continue to shine, I can't help but be annoyed at how we ended last year.

No doubt. Just one more loss and we could have Green.

Greene will go #1. We weren't getting him.

What really pisses me off is that game we won on June 1st last year.. Why did we win that game.. We could have had a better draft pick..

I agree. What does a random win or two last year do for this team going forward?

You play to win the game.

This isn't true 100% of the time. Otherwise teams wouldn't trade players and go into rebuild mode.

This, but the same old narrative that we should of lost games at the end is tiring. We were out of it before May.. we should have lost games in May/June/July/August and September... but then you become historically bad.. so is there a formula to intentionally losing to get the top pick or do you just wing it.

There comes a point in the season when it does more harm than good by winning more games. And that is indeed what happened last September.

The game that killed me was a huge comeback win probably late August/early September. I thought when it happened, "that had better not cost us". And it did.

Bukauskas is now 6-0 with a 1.40 ERA following his start against N. C. State Friday night. Didn't have his best stuff, but still no-hit them for the first 5.1 innings. Gave up 1 earned and 4 singles in 7 IP with 6 Ks and 2 BBs. Has now allowed 9 earned runs in 9 starts with an 81/15 K/BB Ratio and a .163 BAA.
