Drafted out of UGA, was in Danville in 2015 and had a good year as a starter (2.30 ERA). Struggled last year in Carolina (~4.6 ERA with a lot of walks) and was changed to reliever for the remainder of the year. Low 90s fastball. -paraphrased from http://theroadtoatlanta.com/rome-braves/

May be a starter now, not sure. Prolly org filler/low leverage reliever.

I love how these games are setup. I can start with Pike and see how he does for a bit before jumping over to the Wilson game.. listen to it for a bit.. maybe watch. Then finish with Weigel this evening.. all while having the big club on in the background.

Demeritte just lost a homer to that Mississippi park. Long fly ball caught as the CF ran into the wall.

    Scivicque 1-1, 2b

He's now hitting .417. I remember watching him at lsu, but don't really remember his catching ability. Is he a real prospect for us?

Yeah...kinda. One of those guys who might be in our top 50 prospects, I think. Backup catcher is a likely outcome.

Came to us in the Erick Aybar trade away: http://www.minorleagueball.com/2016/8/17/12522344/braves-trade-erick-aybar-to-tigers-for-mike-aviles-prospect-kade-scivicque

Weigel was pitching great for Mississippi, finally gives up a run on a ground out for second out in 6th and now taken out in a 1-1 game. Very good game again for him, 0 BB and 7 K's.

Something to note... we have some really young pitchers pitching well at AA with scivicque as catcher. Wonder if he deserves some credit

Jared James had about as poor of a start as possible this year, but he's a homer short of the cycle tonight and up to hitting .241. Pretty intriguing guy we took I think in round 32 last year.

Pike with an excellent start tonight... 6 ip, 1 BB, 4 SO, 66 pitches (41 strikes)

Also, McCreery for Rome has been very good in the bullpen... he's the guy we got for Chacin I think... he had always been terrible with walks but had unreal strikeout numbers... would love to see him keep harnessing that.

Wilson with a solid start again too, although it did take him 82 pitches to get through 4.2... still only gave up 2 BB and 1 hit/1 run
