Blair for Jackson makes no sense unless it is the classic Snit plan of use and send down, then call up, use and send down. I really dislike this approach as confidence is very important for pitchers. Snit is basically telling Jackson that 1 bad outing over shadows his 2 good ones.

What I remember is that his fastball has wicked break on it as it gets toward the plate. That's when he's sitting 92-94 though. When he runs it up to 96-97 it tends to straighten out. He's been working on keeping the break action going in his FB. His curveball is a potential plus plus pitch if he can find consistency. Problem is that its inconsistent but he's been working it hard. He does throw a change but its just average at the moment.

His change has tons of movement and huge speed separation but he tips it with slower arm motion. These are all things that can still be worked out as a 22 year old.

I figured they would send Jackson down. He wasn't up for the long haul anyway. This was just to replace Roe for now. He worked enough last night to send him down and bring up a 'fresh' arm to pitch. I just don't like the 'fresh' arm they picked. Blair should stay down and work..

No way Jackson should be going down... he was bad last night bc he was tired.

He is going down because he was tired... They did this all last year. bring a new guy up for a week or two and then send him down.

Straight FB is usually not associated with a strikeout rate of 10 per nine innings.

Prospect watch. Touki is getting ahead with off speed stuff. I am predicting a huge game for him.

His cut fastball has a lot of arm side movement. His four seamer is hard and straight. He located the four seamer great today. I think the cutter was less accurate. His curve was good though.

I've heard different things depending on the day, so I say his fastball has intensive care.

The Fried hype is dying down. He's getting roughed up. Also velo is in the low 90s.

"Cut fastball" doesn't mean what you think it means. A cut fastball doesn't break arm side.

What you actually mean is a 2 seamer:

You're welcome. I look forward to your snarky response despite the fact you were completely wrong.

That was a strange game. He was cruising. Even in the 2nd. Got ahead of every hitter. 2 quick outs then got ahead 0-2. The hitter just kept fouling off pitches then hit a laser to center. Seemed to rattle him but he then cruised through the 5th. I stopped listening and he promptly fell apart.
