Seriously, I think what nsacpi is considering is that Boni can back-up more positions, esp. in the outfield and is better running the bases if used that way. But otherwise neither bring much at all. I like having both Lane and Boni in the sense that if Snit burns one early you still have the other later to pinch run, though knowing snit he pinch hits both and then has to pinch run a catcher for a catcher. :)
I'd guess its the CF coverage more than anything. And maybe the pinch running?

I'm also pretty sure that Bonifacio is still a better hitter than D'Arnaud. I'm basing this on 2016 data rather than the very small sample we have for both this year.

I don't think either of them belongs on a well-constructed bench. They are both the kind of player you stash in AAA in case of injury.

Both are classic 25th guys in an earlier era, but in the current game with 12- and 13-man pitching staffs, you need better guys on the bench. Jace Peterson makes either or these guys redundant. Hopefully Lane Adams adds something and at least gives the team a true 4th OF option. They should give Adams some ABs to see what we have in him.

Lane Adams is not the answer to any question the Braves have, regardless of how hopeful any of the posi-Braves want to be.

There is a better than average chance that he is the answer to the question, "is there anyone at Gwinnett who can hit better than Chase D'Arnaud?" Of course, he's probably just one of many.

Lane Adams is exactly the guy the Braves should be playing. he is 27 and pretty much given up on. This guy has a shot at becoming the next Adruw Jones..

He said pitchers. It's stupid to do it with hitters!

I'm sure no one WANTS to "give up" on Newcomb as a starter, but there's no doubt he's got the stuff to be an Andrew Miller-like weapon in the pen right now. Kinda scary to think of what a return to health for Lindgren would mean, Suddenly you'd have an unbelievably nasty pen...

    Johnson
    Vizcaino
    Minter
    Cabrera
    Newcomb
    Ramirez
    Lindgren
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
