Years ago, I talked about his need to get mentally tough and he admitted so himself. I don't know if Enscheff is a Brave fan or not, but he is right on that he needs a season of this now. He's been as good in a few starts before. But I'm a posi-Brave so there's that.

I am not comparing him to John Smoltz. But it isn't that unusual for a young pitcher to have problems keeping it together when things go wrong. Any more than it is that unusual for a kid to find a way to cut down on walks. Sometimes they grow out of it. Other times they never make it.

Sims AFL numbers along with the start to this year do indicate an improvement. Hard to say otherwise.

He struck out 101 in 91 IP and held hitters to a .203 average in AA last year. That includes I think a rough stretch before he got it back together after the AAA demotion.

Still Walked too many guys there though.

Kid seemed to lose his feel last season and fell apart. Maybe he's got it back. Ace? Probably not. But the 50 IP last year aside, he's been pretty hard to hit.
    23? He's still only 22 now....right?

Some interesting stuff for Florida tonight. Looks like JB Moss has been activated, and he's playing right field. Acuna in center, and Didder is playing second base.

I had forgot all about moss. Anyone know D. Peterson's status?

yes, he completely wasted a great start from Sims today by giving up 6 singles in the 9th..

Sims and any of these guys that are on the younger side and wild...they can always put it together. It appears Sims is...in fact, didn't he finish strong last year after a bad start and demotion? Example....Luke Jackson was getting lit up In Texas. He seems to maybe have turned the corner.

Fact is, if Sims has put it together...great!! I'm not sure why anyone would call that being an homer. I "hope" he puts it together. Hope is a good thing lol.

I am not sure why he has gotten such a bad rap. He isn't that old, and had a few bad stretches....but also some good ones. I don't think he is a hall of famer or anything, but why is it a stretch to hope he could be a solid #3 type. Management will just trade him if he clicks anyway because they will want guys they drafted or traded for in the rotation. It's win/win either way.

"Hope" is not a strategy, but again, Sims hasn't been beat down by many of the diehard fans, but it is true that others have bypassed him. Is that a knock? Perhaps, but I've seen this Sims before. It's about being able to get over the hump. There aren't many people here who crap on other people being positive, but we all know who they are. I feel better about him than I have in a long time, but that doesn't mean he's there. I've waited this long on him, so I'll continue to do so.

Hope is not a strategy. Sims is waaay down the prospect list. No one is counting on him to do jack. We should all "hope" he does though???

If he lives up to what people thought he could be...the "hope" strategy would be great. Better yet, people can think he's going to turn out to be who we thought he was....

Speed (and poor defense by the opponent) kills in Florida as Didder steals home on the front end of a double-steal and Acuna comes around to score on two errors by Luke Dykstra on the same play.
