Yeah some here think we are just going to go on a slide
This team is different IMO. They know they let one slip. Craig knows it. Simmons knows it.
They aint laying down. This was a wake up call.

As Glavine once told Marcus Giles after making a crucial mistake, "if you want to be on a playoff caliber team, you damn well better start playing like it"
upton upton and reed johnson in the OF
johnson,simmons,uggla,freeman
and start whoever at C, doubt they start mccann at C for game 2
I DON'T WANT THE NATS TO WIN THE SECOND WILD CARD! (I'm shouting to the baseball gods that seem to love torturing us.)
Actually, it would be more like the first game against the Cardinals where we had a two run lead and Kimbrel blew his first save in months. But, that was with like 18-20 to play, and at that time was even a smaller lead. 9 games up with 11 to play? Not going to happen.

Hate losing this game this way but its too easy to want to throw in the towel. How many times will that combination of factors in an inning occur? Not often. We win one game in this series out of the two left and they have to win out while we lose out, playing the Cubs next, and Brewers when we get back home. I don't see that happening. I don't know what October will be like, not sure we will have a long visit to that month, but I can't see the Braves losing the division, even as bad as it has been the past couple of weeks.

The game feels like a punch in the stomach. With the Pirates/Cardinals/Dodgers losing recently, this game hurts in terms of home-field advantage. It'd be great to have that clinched before the Braves have to see Hamels and Lee again in the last series of the year.
As bad as that loss was we're still 2 ahead of the Cards and 3 ahead of the Dodgers for HFA. We're still in great shape but we have to get our heads out of asses NOW!!!!
Garcia (4-6, 4.86) vs Roark (6-0, 1.30) in the second billing.
Well, there is one good thing about Kimbrel blowing this game today. We only have to wait a few hours to try and wash the taste out of our mouths.
the last thing you want is to have them snatch up the 2nd WC spot. still only 4 back in the loss column
yeah the reds are playing the astros right now but they still have 6 vs Pittsburgh
I have all the confidence in the world in Kimbrel, but you have to get wins like this, no excuse. This loss is either going to be the catalyst that brings it all down, or it's going to be a wakeup call for us to get our heads out of our asses. Hope it's the second one. Assuming we don't completely fold, we need to do everything we can to keep the Nats out of October.
Congrats to Freddie Freeman on his 100th RBI of the season.
