Just dont read the comments in the article. People saying Heyward has more WAR than Freeman so they are equal. Also we kept Freeman because he was the white guy.

Even on a WAR driven board like this, I'm not sure there is a poster here that would swap players given the contracts right now. Probably regardless of contracts too... THAT makes it the right call.

I was a Heyward supporter but I saw where Freeman was headed as an offensive player and it made sense to extend him. Add in the fact that Jason wasn't in the ballpark financially with where the Braves were and the only debate to me was who got the best of the trade.

i read the article and heard thwufpk in my ear saying that runs prevented were just as important.

I think Heyward is making 50 million more over the life of the deal too. Heyward is also playing a tougher defensive position.

Without getting into another defensive baseball debate, there are not many hitters that mash. FF is hitting like his new baseline is a top 25 or better hitter in baseball. Some graphics I have seen him in the top 10 or top 5. You always take the masher if they are that elite.

I would think the main concern would be that people would want us to be able to keep both and I wish that were an option.
