two-game series with an off-day before and after...the kind of scenario where you have the freedom to use the pen aggressively...

if you are in the middle of a long stretch with no days off you leave in your starter to take his lumps in a game like this...but we aren't in that situation

Colon looked much better after the first inning but how long can we let him run (and I use that term loosely) out there? Jim Powell and don Sutton were talking on the radio broadcast saying they saw more outs during batting practice

There are 2 guys in AAA that are pitching well and deserve a shot this year. How long do you let Colon go with this type of production before you "discover an injury" and give one of Newcomb or Sims a spot start or 2?

The Braves and Sims and Newcomb are all at the point where even if they called them both up now and never sent them back to the minors the Braves control all of their age 20 seasons. Soon it will make sense to "see what they have" in Sims and Newcomb.

My guess is they will realize both are BP arms, but this is the perfect season to figure that out.
