Well. 4-2 now. And Garcia's ERA is 4.24. I wish our rotation would at least step up.

Correa's in his 3rd season and is younger than Dansbo.

AL game...so 4 runs is decent for him. If this was a NL game, he would have most likely given up 3.

HE had over 100 AB's in AAA and put up much more impressive numbers in AA than Dansby.

Once again Ender comes up with a horrible at bat in a clutch situation.

    Mark Trumbo: 123 wRC - 3 years 37.5 million

Kemp has a 132 wRC as a Brave, which is roughly in line with his career 124 wRC.

If we are using that as a barometer, then I think his true value is somewhere between what Trumbo and Encarncion signed for.
    Spot on analysis.

Trade value is surplus value above the rate of his contract. Those guys just went to the highest bidder, therefore, by definition, have nearly zero trade value. If anyone valued them more than those contracts they would have signed elsewhere, so nobody is going to give up a prospect asset for the honor of paying a contract they didn't want to give the guy when he was a FA.

If Kemp is "worth" about 3/40 compared to recent similar FA signings, but is owed 3/47, he has a negative trade value of around $5M-$10M.

Why did Freeman get nothing to hit with Kemp behind him?

Kemp just knows how to drive guys in. The Braves will take the lead here.

Freeman has the highest walk rates in his career the months Kemp has been protecting him.

He did, he just didn't hit it so KEMvP removed his protection for the remainder of the game. FF is a slacker imo..

So protection gets you walked more in addition to slugging more? I figured the whole idea of protection was to get walked less. So confusing!
