Last year, I gave a "report" about Acuna and said he was the most impressive prospect on the field. He's done nothing to detract from that. Last year he was contact and power when called upon. Over the last five years, he been my guy as well as Albies. I still think Albies bat to ball skills are amongst the best in our system...SO'S be damned. Lol. I still wanted Acuna to stay in A+...but he's tapping into his athleticism for real

I agree with you on Albies, and as I said none of the moves we made this year are bad at all. Having Allard and Soroka at AA is a good thing, Acuna would have started there anyway if he hadn't had the injuries, and Weigel needs to be in AAA at his age range. But all of them need to stay where they are at for the duration of the year now that they are there.

I don't really care as much about players flying through A and A+ ball, but I think it's really important players spend almost a full season at AA or AAA, or at least somewhere along the line they need to have a season where they get 400+ ABs at a level or around 20 starts at one level to give them a full taste of what it's going to be like playing a full season in the pros. Otherwise I don't think the player really has time to get challenged fully.

Our biggest offensive disappointments over the last 15 years would be Heyward and Frenchy, and both were bull rushed through the minors to the majors (and Swanson was rushed up while he was actually being challenged in AA). I think that hurt their ability to adjust once they hit the majors, because they never learned in the minors. It may not have mattered long term at all, but it certainly didn't help. On the flip side Freddie and Mac got moved much more slowly through levels overall, and have been much more consistent overall. Correlation doesn't equal causation per se, but I think the little things help. At the very least I see zero reason to not give the players plenty of time just in case it helps, particularly when we suck anyway.
I don't think anymore time in the minors at any level would have helped Frenchy. He thought he was the second coming of Vlad and nothing would have changed that.

    Ruiz 2-4, 3b, 2 RBI
    Now hitting .250

If he gets to .270, I'd give him shot at 3b in Atlanta

    Seymour 2-3, 2b
    Now hitting .476 since promotion

Did we replace mallex with another version of mallex?

ETA... that's worded weird. I know we didn't get seymour in mallex trade. Should've asked... is Seymour another mallex?

Mallex is WAY better than Seymour. Seymour is a non-prospect.

Man, another hit for Acuna -- this one is an RBI-triple. Dude is killing AA.

Seymour's speed is a true 80. Marlins put him in the infield and he struggled. Braves moved him back to the outfield (where he is comfortable) and he has done much better. Maybe not a everyday guy, but definitely NOT a non-prospect.

Mallex is a 70 runner with a 50 hit tool. Not a lot of baseball instincts and had a te30 to 40 arm

Seymore is an 80 runner with a 40 hit tool who can maybe play of and I have no idea on the arm. If this kid actually can hit a little then he becomes a fourth of

    Super. Star.

    I'm telling' y'all. He'd be a 1-1 type in a draft.

I would have kept acuna in a plus bc he was just doing ok. But he's mashing at a bad park. Maybe challenging him at that park was part of it

The lack of walks from albies and acuna worry me

Demerrite really looking like he's made some legit changes

Allard and Sirius are still 19. They should not sniff aaa until next year. More legit prospects in aa anyway. Unless they think the park is allowing them to get away with too much...

Best part of Weigel's start was that four hits allowed came in a row to start the game. He was losing 2-0 before recording an out and really settled in.
