Btw, our lone big money signing in 2014 was Juan Yepez, for I think $1 million. Acuna signed that year for $100k. Robles signed for $225k in 2013, another example of a lesser recognized prospect at the time who might end up one of the best players in his class.
Along with the seven big bonus international signings for us last year (players who received $1M or more), we also signed 27 other players for bonuses less than $300k. Those 27 guys are lottery tickets to me, guys who can hopefully add on 20 lbs of muscle and explode and/or grow four or five inches (these are 16 year olds we are talking about, afterall).
Fangraphs highlighted two of these lesser known signees of ours in their top prospects list. Guillermo Zuniga - starting pitcher, was older for this class (is 18 already) so they expect him to carve up the rookie leagues this year, says he has a good arsenal. Braulio Vasquez - shortstop, they said he showed up to training camp 15 lbs heavier than when we signed him, something to watch.
Blair's best outing of the year?
Thank you. As been stated by many..myself included..his bat to barrel skills are uncanny. Thinking about his injury, it's got to be scary with his wrist and forearm torque. I broke the radial head bone in my forearm and you literally can't rotate your hands, wrist..forearm.
Prospect fatigue is real, but Albies is still our best prospect. I've seen some thinking he is Peraza 2.0 but to me he's much more.
If Albies ends the year on a high note I see no reason he won't be the favorite for the job going into spring training.
If Phillips continues as is...he will be traded by the deadline.
I see no way Albies isn't on the opening day roster. He is probably up in September.
