Then don't flip the bat.
Jays are a team of punks. Starts at the top with Gibbons. I'd start Collmenter today and have the first pitch placed directly on Pillar's chin. Problem is, Collmenter's fastball wouldn't even leave a bruise. But I think you guys catch my drift.

I would doubt it. Major league locker rooms are notably crass and what words are uttered on the field in this realm is pretty much ignored as heat of the moment sh*t (and so it goes). I abhor what he said and he may have to put a couple of thousand in the kitty, but I doubt it will be little more than that.
My point is Bautista said he wasn't trying to show anyone up. If he was concerned about that, he shouldn't have flipped the bat. Filp the bat, do the Jeffrey Leonard "flaps down" crap, admire your HRs. Jimmy Piersall ran the bases while facing backwards to celebrate his 100th career HR. Players should do what they want, but then don't give a half-hearted apology when the other team gets pissed off.
I care so little about someone 'flipping the bat' ..... you hit a home run you should be able to flip the bat and somersault around the bases. Seriously who cares? It offends the game? Please. It shows up the other team? Sure, but they don't like, don't give up gopher balls.
Sports are fun - flip the bat, stare down batters, pump the fist, stroll around the bases --- or do none of those things --- either way stop taking it so seriously.
I would much prefer you flip bats over breaking our best players wrist.. that is just me though..
I'm on board with this 99.9 percent of the time. Just think it was horrible timing for him to do it considering as much as they'd pissed the Braves off with multiple HBPs and up and in pitches, plus they'd just knocked our franchise star out for a significant amount of time. Add in that tensions were already high, and that bat flip was more pronounced than Bautista's usual ones.
