Trading FF when HH wanted to and myself to an extent, would have greatly undersold his value. FFF was coming off a down year with a wrist injury that still plagued him. His value has probably doubled since then.

Something tells me Snitker is the kind of guy who goes home and practices Aikido for hours to shake off post game stress.

Gibbons, OTOH, looks like he accomplishes the same by tossing back a six-pack of Bud Light Limearitas.

    My money is on Snit.

Well. He will pitch inside a bit more than usual. But I hope he is smart about it. We still want to win the game and get some innings from him.

He only needs to hit one of the two: JoeyBatFlip or Pillhomophobe

Assuming the Royals won't be dumping Eric Hosmer, it would be fine to see if Seattle is interested in giving away someone else. Offer a fair to middling arm for D.J. Peterson, who could also play third (maybe not all that well, but ...).

They have the perfect excuse if Freeman is out though. Hey our super star is out, so we are going to make some trades to strenghen the team for the future.

Too bad we can't bring in Ryan Howard to pitch and have him been the first batter. I'd love to see someone on the Jays charge him

He could just put nearly-random words together and no one would no the difference.

If the Braves do opt to go outside of the organization for a temporary replacement, I could see them zeroing in on a veteran with decent defensive skills, given Swansby ... as well as the possibility that both Albies and Ruiz could be up later this season.

At this point, the primary goal of this season should be to make sure Teheran, Folty, Freeman, Swanson and Inciarte are healthy for 2018. The secondary goal should be to give Sims and Newcomb a look at the MLB level to determine if they are options for the 2018 rotation.

Literally nothing else matters. Nothing on the roster is going to bring back anything of note in trade. The Braves are not going to even win the depressing 75 games they were projected to win. Albies does not need to see MLB time until a few weeks into 2018, and nobody else in the system needs to be planned around.

Hey, Johan Camargo looks like he could have a nasty dropkick.

Sean Rodriguez sure would have came in handy right now. Just bad luck all around.

I hope we don't go outside the organization. If Freddie misses significant time no one we replace him with is going to help us. Without him the season is toast and we're on our way to the cellar. So why go outside the organization? Just give some internal options some ABs.

Doesn't Kelly Johnson seem to make way too much sense to ignore at this moment?
