I think it's just a day off for Simmons.

    I'd go

    JUpton
    Freddie
    CJ
    Gattis
    Mac
    Uggla
    Wood
    Schafer
    EJ

    Because why not?

According to Mark Bowman's Twitter, the Braves brought in a farm hand to throw live batting practice to Heyward. Heyward has indicated he'd like to avoid the instructional league and get his live AB's this way. Strong sense is Heyward will return on Monday.

It sounds more like Fredi saving face for resting him tonight. Simmons has probably been sore for a while playing every day like he does. Players are going to be playing sore and worse this time a year.

Is all you do bash Fredi?

But I'm sure you know more than Fredi who is around the team daily.

Simmons has played 30 more games than he ever has, sore neck or rest, an off day is just fine.

Having Heyward back for the whole last week would be a tremendous boost, but I won't hold my breath.

I just hope he has time to come back and get his game back on track for the playoffs. While I hope he has time to do so, but I honestly don't think it's likely. It would be great for us to have the Heyward we had before his injury come playoff time. So we'll just have to hope against the odds I suppose.

I think a week should be enough to get Jason back to "normal". Two weeks and he should be at full throttle, hope we're still playing.

Was a close pitch to take with two strikes. Game over though.

It's really bad when you're 2-0 and you feel like you have no chance to win, but there's exactly the case. The Braves can't keep their pitchers no margin for error. I've never seen a team this bad offensively over this long of a stretch.
Unbelievable, no Strasburg, or Gio or Zimmermann and yet they will leave Washington having been swept.
