Yes they did. He is a horrible outfielder. He is a 1st baseman period. He should be a starter somewhere. He should be traded if he keeps this up, because Freddie plays pretty much every game. As for him being a bench player...you really decrease his value by doing that. Better to get something decent and sign or acquire a bench player that fits what we need a little better.
Play Adams in CF when Colon starts. Maybe it will piss him off enough to retire and save us some money.

Putting him on the bench or playing him at a different position decreases his value. That's exactly what the Cards did and why they got wha for him. That would require us getting rid of Muk or Kemp and makes it a more lateral more.
How about move him for a like 3rd baseman or catcher ?
The Cardinals have already been through that in trying to find him a place on their roster. If he'd been even adequate, the Braves wouldn't have been able to acquire him for Yepez.
I can't imagine the Braves playing Kemp and Adams together in the corners. And it wouldn't make sense to bench Kemp to play Adams.
I think this is one of those scenarios that works better on a video game than in real life.
There were some laughs and some comments of pure gold in this topic.
Over the last 7 days, Adams HR/FB rate has been a much more realistic 16.7%.
His line over those 7 days has been .304/.360/.478 (.838 OPS).
His career HR/FB rate of 13.8% produced a career .787 OPS.
Are we starting to see what happens as his HR rate normalizes?
are we really going to use a 7-game sample size to draw any conclusion whatsoever?
again: only when it fits the desired narrative is this OK, apparently.
