Camargo is our future utility guy. Demeritte will be 3B, OF, or someone else's 2B.

Camargo got a couple of starts late in ST last year, as one of the last ml guys in camp. I saw those games and he really impressed me. He made one bad error at SS, but also flashed that big arm and put together good ABs, squaring up several balls against Nats and Yankees big-league pitchers. I think he's a really solid bet as a reserve in the bigs. I doubt it'll be with us, but I'm a fan.

Demeritte goes back to back with one of his own.

This is all vs Tyler Mahle, who has been a breakout prospect for Cinncinati so far this year.

Soroka likely done: 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 8 K. Shaky first inning, great after that. Struck out the side in his last inning.

Soroka actually came back out for the sixth. He struck out the first two and then got pulled exactly at 100 pitches with 66 strikes.

    Final line: 5.2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 10 K.

Did anyone see what his stuff looked like? Was he sitting 89-90 or 93-94?

I almost wonder if Mississippi's radar gun is jacked up. Soroka and allard were 89-91 when I saw them there

Let's hope so. That velo isn't going to cut it.

With 10 Ks in 5.2 innings you would have to think that he was putting the fastball into the 93-95 range.

If he's striking out 10 in 5 I'll, everything else he throws must be nasty.

Either that or minor league hitters aren't as good as MLB hitters at dealing with advanced sequencing, good location, and guys that just know how to pitch.

All the prospect gurus pretty much unanimously love Allard and Soroka. I think their velo is fine.
