Part of what Colon is doing is being the vet mentor and keeping the service time down on the young guys. Wisler and Blair do not look like options.
Maybe a desperate mets team would take him off our hands and save us a couple million. It's not really about the money for me. We don't have anyone else to spend that money on. He can take his lumps and let Sims and Newcombe keep working. After the deadline we can give one or both of those guys some valuable starts. I'm still not a believer in Sims with the reports of his flat fastball and mechanical delivery. Newcombe and Fried are not banging down the door. The 19 y/o have no buisness being in MLB with this 70 win team.
