It was wishful posi-Brave thinking that Wright would give a hometown discount because he was a Braves fan haha.
Longenhans said in chat, he's 92-97 with a four pitch mix as the closer for his Juco. supposedly a SS out of HS.
Combine his being at Florida behind great arms with the transfer and you may still have some projection as a starter.
Bacon looks like someone we hope to sign for $10k to $50k. Our two first picks are definitely going to cost us a big chunk of our budget.
Wright might sign for right at slot or a bit more. Waters will probably be over slot IMO. I doubt we sign Tarnok for much under budget for his slot. I'm guessing our picks from round 4 through 10 will be guys we never heard of, guys we can sign for under $100k.

Bacon unranked by BA. Theres under slot and then there is just wasting picks. Why not take Bacon much later in the draft? We already have an extra 900k in slot money for Wright/Waters because we can go 10% over the pool cap before any meaningful penalty.

Not sure these two picks are conclusive about anything. Tarnok looks like a shot in the dark pick for 3rd round material. Braves have always drafted relief pitchers and this might be a good one too. I don't think the first two guys are going over slot still. Not sure if we get them at any kind of huge discount though..

There's pretty much no chance he's signable at this point I'd think. Unless the Braves FO has a magical draft leprechaun to conjure some cash.
At this point, you can probably conclude he's not an easy sign at the very least and no one was particularly close to his number. If someone wants to take a shot now, he'd probably get called in the 11th round plus.
If you take him later, there isn't as much slot money to move toward other signings.
Bacon may have leverage with the 4-year college commitment, but my guess is the Braves don't draft him without an agreement in principle in place.
someone will take him later round and see if there is a way to move money around to meet his demands. But ultimately he will go back to school. If he is looking for 3 million, that will be hard for anyone outside the top 3 to do at this point.
We could probably find ~$1.5 million I'd guess if we punt every other round and sign Tarnok/Bacon super underslot, for about $200k each. Doubtful though.

This happens with most clubs every draft. They sign unranked guys picks 4 or 5 through 10 because of the way the MLB draft budget rules work.
Basically, all signings through pick 10 count towards the draft budget. All picks after 10 only have the amount they sign for over $100k count against the budget.
