"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
I also think there will be some politics in there. When we trade Adams, the spin will be we had the chance to acquire an ex Brave who is a great team leader and we couldn't pass it up. We also have 3b covered, as well as other positions going forward that gives us roster flexibility.
Combine that with the return we get from Adams and that's an easy sell.
On a side note having Prado, SRod, and Camargo on the same 25 man roster would allow for an 8 man bullpen.
The good thing about that tough July schedule....it will be a great audition for our guys that we hope to move.
Was just looking at his peripherals... Sonny Gray is more attractive than I previously thought, especially under control through 2020. Based on his injury history though, I don't think I'd be willing to give up what it would take to get him.
The offseason plan should be obviously simple:
1. Exercise Dickey's option or sign another back end guy for $10M-$15M.
2. Fix 3b using the least amount of prospect capital possible.
3. Enjoy the first year of the Braves next competitive window, and augment the roster at the deadline if they are in position to earn a playoff spot.
Any other actions completely fly in the face of the whole point of the rebuild.
If the Braves get their playoff odds to ~10% by the deadline they should not sell at all. Nothing they have to sell will return anything as valuable as a hint of playoff contention.
Garcia and Phillips should be traded no matter what if the Braves aren't within shouting distance the week of the deadline. Probably Suzuki too.
JJ, Viz and Adams should only be traded if they can be part of a package that brings back a legit 45 FV or better prospect. If not they should be kept to help in 2018.
I should have added a Flowers extension to my off season plan. I would actually look to use the leverage of picking up his option now to secure a couple more years of control.

If the Blue Jays are actually selling, I'd definitely be interested in looking at Marcus Stroman.
