Ventura's Stolen Bases
Forget what other teams need. What do the braves need?
Ventura's Stolen Bases
I was joking because he dominated them. Prolly should have said Giants though.
I'd like to see the Braves target Adujar for Adams plus another piece or two like Garcia and a BP arm. They are the team I identified a couple weeks ago as the best match with the Braves for multiple pieces. Andujar may have made himself too valuable with his resent golf play, but he would fit nicely at 3b.
Braves don't have a single player on MLBTR's Top 50 trade pieces.

If they can't package several pieces together for a good return, I would say just keep the band together and make a run for .500. I'd rather watch this team play for .500 than sell the pieces with little value and watch them win 70-75 games.
I think the Braves should target Colton Welker from the Rockies. They need BP help the Braves have a few arms in the pen to match up. I say Vizcaino for Welker straight up.

Don't fall for the mirage. This isn't a .500 team.
I said before the month began that June was a horrible schedule where the braves would play all the worst teams in baseball, most at home. Even the Brewers were due for a collapse.
The Braves should get best available return for any player who doesn't have a serious future role.
I'd agree with enscheff that we don't need dudes. We have an incredibly deep system. We don't need fillers. We need to see if we can get impact guys and if not hold.
Phillips keeping albies service time down is valuable
Markakis keeping Acuna service time down is valuable
Adams is cheap nxt year and therefore should not be given away. Same on viz and just
But if someone gets desperate for a pen arm or a bat we should jump on it

This is where I disagree, no farm system is ever deep enough where you can't use more pieces.
I have no issues trading superfluous vets for FV 40 type guys if they have some promise or really young. A guy like Derian Cruz who struggled initially or a guy like Alex Jackson who's fallen out of favor. Hell guys like Whalen/Gant are fine too if you can't get something better - we used those pieces to get other things.
I'm not giving guys away, but I'm also not demanding great pieces.
Agreed. Why hold onto guys like Phillips or Markakis if you can get some sort of value for them in a trade? It's not Phillips keeping Albies down, it's Albies' development. If you trade Phillips you can put Jace at 2B. Nobody is ever valuable simply as a means of being a road block for a prospect.

1. You can't get a rep for just dumping guys. Call their bluff that you have a standard.
2. Those guys have value. If Phillips was playing like jace albies would prob be up. For a million bucks we get another year of control on albies plus decent MLB production. I don't think the are dumb enough to promote acuna but markakis could do that for us next year.
Yes every piece has value. Maybe they hit line drury. Maybe someone accepts a poo poo platter. But I'm not giving guys away
Accepting pieces like Whalen and Gant isn't ideal, but it's also not giving guys away. Those pieces had actual value for us and can be used in trades down the line.
There's certain players that just don't have a future with us and this isn't a playoff team this year, not dealing them would be foolish. Get the best you can get, baseball=monopoly ..... you can never have too many assets.
