Velo shouldn't a huge surprise his fastball has always been upper 90s in the minors, so the guns maybe a tick off, he's throwing 97.... I've watched him do that in the minors

Fastballs and changups are all straily is throwing and very rarely does 1 touch 90 and 1 never goes under 83. We should be hitting

He also throws with more movement and a much better out pitch.
Only 2 starts so far but you can see why control issues were often dismissed. Reports were always that Newcomb was around the zone in the minors.

Also, Newk looks fantastic. I'm waiting for that inevitable meltdown inning still, but he's been terrific so far
