Yeah. I do love Pulisic going right up to their supporters and shushing them.

Wes was the beast of the match. I love the energy he and brooks game and love also how Acosta was giving Mexicans the business. Like the boys who played deserved all the credit. It was one of the worst matches from a beauty aspect. The ref was so bad he should be forced to wear something that says "I did a bad job"

I know technically full letter of the law, McKenzie committed a hand ball. But spirit of the law it wasn't. He wasn't trying to make himself bigger, he was literally turning around and starting to move, and the kicker that header wasn't going on target and they got a more dangerous chance because of that "handball"

Also Wes has now been choked twice by Mexican players who haven't been carded.

World Cup Qualifying kicks off in 2 days. Lots of USMNT transfers on deadlines.

Matthew Hoppe is leaving Schalke for Mallorca, Chris Richards is loaned to Hoffenheim, Cole Bassett is moving to Benfica in January, Erik Palmer-Brown is joining Troyes, Cameron Carter-VIckers to Celtic, Jack de Vries to join yanks Busio and Tessman on loan at Venezia.

So for those who want ot konw, using only players in top leagues (and english Championship) the USMNT could make this roster

    GK - Steffen and Horvath
    LB - Robinson, Scally
    CB - Brooks, Miazga
    CB - Richards, Palmer-Brown
    RB- Dest, Reynolds
    CDM - Adams, Busio
CM - McKennie, Musah, Green, Tessman
Wingers - Pulisic, Gio, Konrad, Weah
    Strikers - Sargent, Hoppe

There's a few stretches and some great USMNT players who aren't featured here who could be in big leagues soon (Aaronson seems destined to transfer to Leipzig soon, if Pepi keeps lighting up MLS he'll be going overseas, Turner should be getting looks from teams overseas, though he may have to wait until his contract with New England is up, Reggie Cannon has been sniffed around by bigger clubs, Bayern is sniffing around Justin Che to possibly be another Chris Richards type of kid, I'm shocked no Championship side signed Daryl Dike after the show he put on last year (i expect someone to sniff around in January))

We're at probably as close to a golden generation for USMNT as we may ever see. I hope I'm wrong and we keep ggetting better, but I honestly think if things break right, we could be contention for a deep run in 2026, with homefield, with guys like GIo, Pulisic, Sargent, Weah, Musah, WEston, Adams, etc. all being in that sweet spot of being like 23-28 our team is potentially stacked. We could theoretically have a team (if everything shakes out) of

    GK - Steffen (31)
    LB - Robinson (29)
CB - Brooks (33, may be too old, but that's where Che, Miles Robinson, etc. come in)
    CB - Richards (26)
    RB - Dest (26)
    CDM - Adams (27)
    CM - Weston (28)
    CM - Musah (23)
    LW - Pulisic (27)
    ST - Sargent (26)
    RW - Gio (23)

    BEnch players like

    Aaronson (25)
    Konrad (25)
    Che (22)
    Robinson (29)
    Bello (24)
    Cannon (28)
    Moore (29)
    Carter Vickers (28)
    Busio (24)

And of course so many guys who haven't even popped off yet. Let's get the ball rolling on a good 2022 tournament to build momentum for 2026.

It really makes a win in Honduras a must. If we win there it erases the **** draw vs. Canada. If we don't, we have no wiggle room from here on out if we want top 3.

I hope Pulisic and Sargent just go ape****. I hope Gregg is smart enough to start them together with Aaronson and Konrad and just go at them. Put Pulisic as the CAM to connect up top and go for it. I want Pulisic as a winger, but we have 0 creative midfielders. There's 2 lineups I use for tomorrow (well tofay now)

    LB - Robinson
    CB - Brooks
    CB - Robinson/Zimmerman
    RB - Yedlin
    CDM - Adams
    CM - Lletget
    CAM - Pulisic
    LW - Konrad
    ST - Sargent
    RW - Aaronson

    or
    CB - Brooks
    CB - Zimmerman
    CB - Robinson
    LWB - Robinson
    CM - Adams
    CM - Acosta
    RWB - Yedlin
    LW - Pulisic
    ST - Sargent
    RW - Aaronson

what I think Gregg will do and I'll smash my head.

    LB - Robinson
    CB - Robinson
    CB - Zimmerman
    RB - Yedlin
    CDM -Adams
    CM - Acosta
    CM - Yueill
    LW - Pulisic
    ST - Pefok
    RW - Konrad

Is there a good reason these games are on so damn late? Probably won’t kick off until 11:00 pm eastern time.

Seems like they're playing with minimal overlap. Like you could watch both the USA and Mexico games.

    was worth staying up for

Honduras is central time by the way. And they don't use daylight savings. So 10 pm eastern is their 8 pm. Plus everything is late in Latin culture.

I try not to clutter this thread with USMNT talk because I could and it would be boring.

But man I'm still fuming about Panama beating the USMNT.

    1. Gregg's roster selection has been brutal. He consistently doesn't take looks at players who're probably better than Kellyn Acosta or Sebastian Lletget. like Julian Green, Djordje Mihailovic, Hassani Dotson, or Keaton Parks. Not one of them has gotten a serious look under Gregg or hasn't in years. All of them are playing in better leagues (Green) or playing much better in MLS than Acosta and Lletget and are all younger. It's dumb. I don't hate Acosta, there's value to his flexibility. But this window we were without Pulisic and Reyna, the 2 best players in the pool, you knew ahead of time you're losing Robinson and Weston because of Quarantine issues, that's most of our creative talent needing to miss games. Your answer to this is to not call in the work horse forward in Sargent who if he started vs. Panama at least wouldn't have conceded the game winning goal, it's not to bring in more creative mids like Green and Mihailovic but stick to the regressive mids. It's moving other players (Hoppe and Roldan) to winger instead of calling in real wingers (Konrad, Gioacchini, Boyd)

Hell if Gregg wasn't such a jackoff about not changing the system with all our issues there was different idea for this game a 3-5-2 diamond. Put Zimmerman, Richards and McKenzie in the back, that way you're less reliant on Bello and Moore to defend, have Acosta's job be that whole game to just be a wrecker who pings the ball to MOore or bello to shuttle forward or don't play Bello at all and put Arriola there, have Busio and Musah connect the dots with the forwards and have Pepi and Hoppe or Zardes and Hoppe lead the offense. Bring Weah off the bench again to provide pace agianst a tired defense and go from there.

It's clear that without Pulisic, Gio, Adams and Weston Gregg's system falls apart. It then falls on individual efforts of guys like Robinson, Dest, etc. to make plays happen. And when instead those individuals are Zardes, Lletget,a nd Arriola, we're screwed.

It could have, I wanted 3. Less for history and more for ****ing them over.

But WEston and Christian getting the goals is just **chef's kiss**

Sad that Weston will miss Jamaica. Don't know what to do about the USMNT midfield. Because I don't want to see Sebastian Lletget anywhere near the field. Hopefully Gregg lets Busio play.

Hopefully we grab some road points. Would love the win, it's doable, Jamaica's team is incredibly talented but they have lots of weaknesses.

I am shocked United finally canned Ole. He stuck around way longer than I thought for a club who's aspirations are as high as Uniteds are. And their talent is insane, for them to be this bad.

    Look at the Watford game.

With a back line of Shaw, Wan-Bassaka, Maguire, and Lidelof, Holding mids of Matic and McTominay, and attacking foursome of Ronaldo, Rashford, Fernandez, and Sancho, they were whooped 4-1.Yes 2 of those goals came late when United were down a man, but that defense shouldn't concede 1 goal.

I mean ****, they're just so badly mismanaged, thier last handful of results are wild.

2-0 loss to city, 2-2 draw Atalanta, 3-0 victory over spurs, 5-0 drubbing by Liverpool, 3-2 Victory over Atalante, 4-2 whooping by Leicester, and Leicester isn't that good this year. Chelsea just whooped them 3-0. Arsenal who were just cricified by Liverpool beat them 2-0. Both of those were road victories too.

Berhalter needs to be fired. There's never been a US team this talented and we're potentially staring at the outside of the world cup qualifying again.

I have to feel for this poor defender. Giving up 3 owned goals in a game, much less a half, much less all 3 first goals. Wooof.

Really the first one I cannot blame her for the first goal. That was dumb luck. Second also appears to be dumb luck as it seemed like it took a deflection before hitting her. Third one she was defeated going into it.

    1. With Boston, Philly, and North Jersey all getting matches, I have a better shot of a US world cup game. My ass is there even if I'm juist outside the stadium getting drunk

    2. Guess you can assume mbappe didn't like Poch as he was fired pretty soon after Mbappe signed that absurd contract extension with PSG that gave him power to hire coaches.
