Yes... ACA approval went up once a worse piece of legislation was presented.

    SHOCKING

3 months ago ACA approval ratings were in Trump territory... which you remind us frequently how poor that is

what HC stands are you willing to compromise in order to make it not increase at so-called 79% surges ?

It is a fact of life -- might as well make it as comfortable as possible --- right?

3 months ago people were still confused ACA and Obamacare

Asking me to compromise on my principles is a non-starter.

That'd be me like me saying to you in order to get your nanny-state healthcare, you'll have to compromise by not letting gays get married and supporting our 9 wars.

    your choice
    see, "liberty" is alive.

Just costs 79% more than you anticipated.

No, I don't bargain like (D) legislators who seem to forever bargain on (R) terms.
My argument seems to have the most support these days.

Affectionately, man, this is why I wonder why you question my saying that libertarians will tend to be marginalized in electoral politics.

Ah yes - my choice. A law that passed says I have no choice, and the price I pay for the same care goes up 78%.

    What a deal.

I don't have a seat at the table - therefore I don't deserve my rights? I suppose that was once true for black people and women. I assume you would have said the same to them.

Obamacare is a failure. It was meant to be a failure, as I've described many time. The government will then "save us" with more government and less freedom.

    How lucky we are

If you're telling me that I have to compromise by saying certain people don't get freedom, I will not compromise.

If that makes me a unicorn, then so be it.

That's a particularly lame straw man, but ok. Polish your horn.

I recognize you struggle how to interpret data in any meaningful context. But this is how this works.

The ACA is bad. People don't like it. And the polls show that consistently.

Now, the people are offered a much worse choice, so the ACA support goes up because it's the lesser of two evils.

Kinda like our election system. Trump gets 25% during the primaries... but when offered up against HRC, that number skyrockets to 45%

    Make sense?

I'm not sure how it is a straw man. You say you want to enforce a mandate on the public that deprives them of liberty.

That is a non-starter for me, regardless of what we're talking about.

Then you talk about unicorns because I say we should go back to something that we had ALL THE BACK TO 2011??

    UNICORNS

Um, because "certain people don't get freedom" is a laughable distortion.

And I didn't talk about unicorns. You did. I'm not sure that you understand why I used that particular term when I did, originally.

Using your construction, it would mean not just returning to the ACA status quo ante, but pre-Medicare and Medicaid as well.

He asked me where I'm willing to compromise, and I said I'm not willing to compromise on anything that takes away individual liberty (i.e., ACA or single payer)

Then you said you can't take me seriously.

So I contend that your contention is its OK to take people's liberty away because some people have more means than others. Many agree would agree with you - but I don't

What liberties are being treaded on with single payer? I'm genuinely interested in this response.

He's going to say you're forcing a doctor to do something and that's taking liberty away. We went down this road once

He fell silent after I pointed out the sixth amendment forces by law highly trained people to do things.

But maybe he has a different answer for ya though.

I personally would be more than happy to compromise on healthcare so long as we pay for it by cutting from other things so we dont add 1 more dollar in new spending. Prefferably money saved from ending the wars and slavery.

    Forcing a doctor to participate.

    Forcing an individual to participate.
