Hoffman was a terrific actor and maybe his best asset as an actor was that he always seemed like he wasn't working at it at all. Kinda like one pitcher can hit 95 on the radar gun but looks like his whole body is about to fly apart in 100 different directions, versus another pitcher who looks like he's just lobbing it up there but the radar gun says he's hitting 94 without him breaking a sweat.
