Rosenzweig laid out some of the lines of inquiry that Mueller will try to pursue with Manafort, if he can get him to cooperate (which is obviously unknown at this point).
First, there’s the meeting that Donald Trump, Jr., arranged with Russians in the expectation that the Trump campaign would be given damaging information on Hillary Clinton that originated with the Russian government. Manafort and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner were at the 2016 meeting, and there are reports of cryptic notes that Manafort took there that are in Mueller’s possession.

The guilty plea by Papadopoulos is potentially a big deal. Potential co-operarting witness. Involved in attempts to set up lines of communication with Russians.
From the WSJ:
George Papadopoulos admitted he misled the FBI in a January interview by telling agents that he had only interacted with the professor before joining the Trump campaign. That professor has “substantial connections to Russian government officials” and was offering “dirt” on Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
In fact, Mr. Papadopoulos met with the professor in March 2016 after learning he was joining the campaign, court documents say. The professor only took an interest in Mr. Papadopoulos because of his status on the campaign, according to the documents. In April 2016, the professor told Mr. Papadopoulos about “thousands of emails” related to Mrs. Clinton.
After that March meeting, Mr. Papadopoulos emailed Trump campaign officials to say he had just met with his “good friend” the professor, who had introduced him to an individual described in the email as the niece of Russian President Vladimir Putin, court documents say. Mr. Papadopoulos said the topic of the meeting was “to arrange a meeting between us and the Russian leadership to discuss U.S.-Russia ties under President Trump,” according to the documents.
A campaign official said he would “work it through the campaign,” but that no commitments should be made at that point, the documents say. The campaign official added, “Great work.”

Papadopoulos was arrested in July 2017 and pleaded guilty on Oct. 5. His plea agreement says the government will inform the sentencing judge of his "efforts to cooperate with the Government, on the condition that your client continues to respond and provide information regarding any and all matters as to which the Government deems relevant."

The professor introduced Papadopoulos via email to an individual in Moscow with ties to Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 18, according to the filing. They had multiple conversations over the next few weeks to lay the groundwork for a meeting between the Trump campaign and Russian government officials.
On July 14, 2016, Papadopoulos emailed one of the foreign contacts and proposed a meeting "for August or September in the UK (London) with me and my national chairman, and maybe one other foreign policy adviser and you, members of president putin's office and the mfa to hold a day of consultations and to meet one another. It has been approved from our side."

I think it's fair to say that there are plenty of cards that haven't been played. Would he get a deal to cooperate if he didn't have anything to trade?

Papadopoulos, The Washington Post reported earlier, is a 2009 graduate of DePaul University. Previously, he was an adviser to Ben Carson’s presidential campaign and was the U.S. representative at the Geneva International Model United Nations in 2012.

The sum of the info in the Papadopoulos document looks pretty ominous.
I feel like at the very least this looks pretty ****ing bad for Trump.
I would guess, at the very least, it opens a whole coterie of folks up to false statement/obstruction of justice charges.

We've seen it happen recently with IT staff.
Immunity agreements, yeah. But this involves a guilty plea and now a formal acknowledgment of witness cooperation.
That's not to say that it necessarily leads to anything, but it's not exactly the same thing.
The reveal itself could induce others to flip.
