I'm going to kick myself for asking this but... What are Putin's goals? and what did Trump do to accomplish them?

There are his 3 main goals which are restoring Russia's control over former soviet states, restoring Russia as a world power, and to restore Russia's image internationally. Those are the goals but those are very long term. The goals Trump has helped Putin with that go towards these longer goals are



Subvert American Elections - Not neccesarily to get his guy into office or flip an election to a friendlier candidate. He wants to destroy the image of the US as having free and fair elections.


End Nato or atleast get America out - Relations with our NATO allies was as strained under Trump as it ever as has been and we may not ever have the same relationship with those countries we once did again.


Increase political divisiveness - Russia is very active in pushing anti-police stuff trying to incite people. The political divide in the country right now is the size of the grand canyon.




I think what Trump has done with the media plays into Putin's hands too but I have never seen it as an objective of his.

By undermining confidence in the legitimacy of our elections it makes his elections viewed as more legitimate in comparison. I think this was a pipe dream for him until the Teflon Don came along.

What did Bill Barr and Durham talk about in their meetings before he was assigned. It has reeks of a politically motivated investigation.
