James Comey
@Comey
Special Agent Andrew McCabe stood tall over the last 8 months, when small people were trying to tear down an institution we all depend on. He served with distinction for two decades. I wish Andy well. I also wish continued strength for the rest of the FBI. America needs you.
(I can't figure out how to get the whole thread to display, but if you click on the tweet it's nine pieces and worth a read for some perspective.)
Considering he has been slammed for a year and is a witness to potential obstruction by Trump, I believe this was a collective effort to force him out.
It sure is amazing how everyone in a leadership position just seems to be getting fired, reassigned or forced out. This **** stinks to the high heavens. I legitimately can't believe anyone supports Trump and the GOP sabotaging an investigation into an attack on our country. It's just remarkable.

Their reckoning is coming.
I saw the same take from another DoJ person a while back, wrt Wray bringing in his own senior people. Some of the people going out (sr counsel Baker, Rybicki, McCabe) were also party to the fallout from Trump's chats with Comey...just by virtue of being "his" senior people. Basically, that their departures would neither be part of a shady Trump purge nor indicative of any wrongdoing, but that it would be likely they would be spun both ways.
The fact that the President has been baying for McCabe's blood (wtf) for months doesn't exactly keep things on an even keel.
