a few years back on the baseball side some argued ( using "data" ) and made credible points that Tommy LaStella and Phillip Goslin were the 2nd coming of Chipper.

There are reports , credible reports. Now whether they pan out like the Central Park 5 - who knows

You should have thought of that when you wasted a voted for Gary Johnson

actually a number of things have happened in broad daylight and are easily discernible for those not averting their gaze

one of the most interesting to me is the collaboration between the White House and certain congressional water carriers (Nunes, Jordan, Meadows and others) to undermine the FBI's investigation and the Mueller investigation...i suppose technically it can be called a form of oversight...but i think a better characterization of what Nunes et al have been up to is aiding and abetting an effort to obstruct and undermine an important counterintelligence (and criminal) investigation...it is a fair question to ask where their ultimate loyalties lie

there is a compelling public interest in the FBI and Mueller carrying out a thorough investigation and i can't help but notice that much effort has been expended by certain individuals to make it very difficult for them to accomplish their work...to me the most concerning thing about this entire matter has not been that the FBI felt a need to investigate what the Russians have been up to as far as our elections go but the response that their efforts have been met with on the part of Trump and his minions

It is worth keeping in mind that Trump ordered Mueller fired and only backed off when McGahn threatened to resign. Old news but worth keeping in mind.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/25/u...el-russia.html

When not trying to kill this investigation, he and his minions have worked very hard to undermine and derail it.

Not surprisingly we have seen Trump respond today with a series of false and misleading claims and attacks on Mueller and the FBI.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/12/u...gtype=Homepage

I might add that the norm here is that a president would be anxious to get to the bottom of this matter and would be eager to assist Mueller and the FBI is any way possible. There is a compelling public interest that their investigation is seeking to serve.

You love to mention the precedent of actions of this president and yet fail to analyze how unprecedented the FBI and DOJ acted from the prior administration.

Did you read the testimony from Lisa Paige which gave us a further peak into how disruptive the DOJ was into normal FBI practices under the Obama administration? Doesn't that tell you something?

The simplest explanation has always been right:

Trump had extensive Russian ties before he ran because Russia saved his business.

When he ran, Russians offered to help and he accepted. It's always been obvious

    - we've just been afraid of the consequences.

    offered ?

the Russians were his friends...and when they offered help he thought well that's what friends are for

In the last 24 hours, we have learned that the FBI has investigated

whether the president is an agent of Russia,

and that he took steps to conceal his conversations

    with the president of Russia.

It would have been an abdication of responsibility on the part of the FBI and its leaders not to have opened this investigation. There is a compelling public interest in having Mueller finish his work in as thorough a manner as possible.

I note again that certain parties have expended much effort to derail or impede the investigation. Trump ordered that Mueller be fired and only backed down when Don McGahn threatened to resign.

It is worth noting that the negotiations about building a tower in Moscow (which continued until the summer of 2016) envisaged the following quid pro quo:

    1) Profits in the hundreds of millions for Trump (which is quite a bit by Trump Organization standards) from help finding land at a good location, help with getting through the systems of building permits and cutting through the red tape, etc.

    2) A penthouse valued in the tens of millions for Putin.

    3) Presumably something else for the Kremlin in the event of a Trump election victory.

It is also worth noting that the negotiations (in the form they existed at the time) only got called off when the heat from the press got turned up regarding Trump-Russia and Trump had to publicly disavow any economic interests connected to Russia.

Also worth noting is that Steve Mnuchin basically stonewalled when asked to brief the congressional leadership on why sanctions on Deripaska were lifted.

I think the only W*A*L*L worth talking about is the one Robert Mueller has constructed around our criminal President.
