As predicted, everyone is down on Newk now that the results are matching what I saw in his first start.

I said he'd get shelled tonight without a change, and that's exactly what's happening.

He still has what it takes to be a very good SP. just needs to get that change going and stop throwing 93 MPH meatballs down the middle.

Nah.. easier to throw knee jerk reactions or passive aggressive statements that make zero sense. One second we condemn FO for benching Swanson for sucking.. then bitch about Newk sucking.. love it..

The Simmons trade looks pretty awful.

You're not wrong. There was just a bit of premature celebration of Newcomb's ascension to TORhood. If it happens, it's going to take time.

Folty has better pure stuff than pretty everybody alive. Newk has plenty good enough arm talent. Much like Folty, it won't mean anything without being able to command it. Throw 105 down the middle and MLB guys are gonna kill it.

Nah, I figured he would have about as many bad starts as good starts. Pitched against some really good teams of late though. Let's see how he recovers. The first HR wasn't that bad of a pitch.

About a billion HR given up. I have to wonder if his lower walk count has come from him giving in with the ball down the middle of the plate.

The Cubs can pretty much eliminate the right side of the plate.... Newk can't get a pitch on that side of the plate..

It seems like every changeup is not only a ball but at least a foot from the plate.
