At this point, one of the usual suspects should pipe up and remind us the games are not played in a spreadsheet.
    "I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."

    "I am your retribution."

I hope he does well again. I really would like to see him in Atl this year. I know Simms is killing it too.. but I don't think he is on the 40 yet. So I see Wisler or Blair getting the first call up.

Sims was added to the 40 in the offseason. They didn't take the chance of losing him in the Rule 5

Blair started for Gwinnett and only went one inning. Maybe just to keep him fresh if he's needed Wednesday in case of a Garcia deal?

What a waste of promising talent. Adam Brett Walker was released by the Orioles from the AAA Norfolk roster.

Walker returned to AAA after the Orioles signed him as a free agent June 10 and assigned him to Bowie in the Eastern League. Even though Walker earlier batting a feeble .122 while playing for Mississippi, he was a man possessed with Bowie -- .426-6-12 in just 12 games.
But once back in AAA with Norfolk, in 18 games he hit a pathetic .080-1-3 with 26 strikeouts.
Counting his time with Gwinnett, Walker's numbers show a player who has maxed out his ability to develop his massive talent at the ripe old age of 25:

In 54 total games, Walker hit .183-12-31 with a dizzying 78 strikeouts. His six-year pro career shows him with 136 homers, but 822 strikeouts in 638 ganes.

Recall, his series of homers and other success as a pinch-hitter made him a darkhorse candidate for the opening day lineup. Instead, he was released May 9.

He's had a pretty good season as a 19 year old in AA but I think he's lost some ground to Soroka and Gohara. My ranking of starting pitching prospects now looks like this:

    1) Soroka
    2) Gohara
    3) Wright
    4) Allard
    5) Anderson

Those are the Big 5. Below them are guys who I think are more likely to end up as relievers in the majors but in most cases should continue to get looks as starters for now.

    6) Newcomb
    7) Sims
    8) Toussaint
    9) Wentz
    10) Fried
    11) Weigel

Allard hasn't lost any ground on those guys. You can't just scout the stat line.
