Hate that this is my first post but this organization botched this so badly. They made a freaking embarrassing show over this first before sending him down, and embarrassing shows are going to do nothing with struggling kids, maybe struggling established players...but he was not that.

This is so ****ty. They should have done this a month ago.
My 11 year old is so pissed right now- and that is part of the problem-- the FO has with this- they made him a poster boy, and tried to keep him up..

Albies is in Lehigh Valley with the G-Braves...coincidence? Of course an IF would have to be on the move for that to make any sense at all...

Sadly Albies isn't coming up...they'll simply pull Jace up and continue to ride 30+ year olds.

Markakis had the wisest words on this whole saga when he talked about the need for young players to be eased into the majors without the added burden of being the heart of a promotional campaign. I hope the FO low-keys it when the other prize prospects get called up. It is normal for young players to struggle at some point when they come up to the majors. They don't need the burden of comparisons to Trout, etc.

If Albies were coming up to replace Swanson then I would want the entire FO fired. They already made this mistake once. Don't make it again. Let Swanson, Acuna, Albies, and everyone else earn their way in the minors while we are mediocre as a major league club. Then they can come up together and we'll be in better shape.

If it's just a simple call up I'd much rather see Micah Johnson than Jace...

How long does he need to stay down to get that year of control back?

Pretty much... Not sure what the hell they were waiting on. I mean, I guess you could say they were trying to be as patient as they could. Bobby Cox was known for giving players looooong ropes and a lot of the times, they came out of it. They I guess just didn't wanna pull the rope hoping that "breakout point" was coming but it never came. He's never gotten in the groove all year. Yea, it's damn near August but as someone else said. I guess better late till never. Having him up here isn't doing any good and it certainly isn't doing the team any good. Probly should have been done 3 weeks ago yea, but... at least it was done.

You wouldn't need to hold him back to start next year if he doesn't come back up this year.

Maybe they didn't want to pay for a single plane ticket all the way back from the west coast. Now he gets to fly with the team and has an easy flight back to Atlanta. Maybe they're saving money for a new contract coming in.

Eh, they don't really have much of a choice. Everyone knows we've been rebuilding, and it's been difficult to keep fans engaged during that. It's hard to promote the future, which signals the beginning of the end of the rebuild, and continue to say thing like, 'Come see Matt Kemp run!'

We have a couple very promotable guys in Freeman and Inciarte.

I think they made two mistakes with Swanson. 1 was making him the poster boy for their marketing dept. 2 not sending him down earlier which was caused by problem one. I like that the FO pushes players up the ladder aggressively. I've always been of the opinion that until you put someone under stress you don't know what they're made of.

Swanson will be fine. He just needs to learn how to handle MLB pitchers. Maybe he will do like judge did and turn a year of sucky play into what drives him.

By the way. Quick promotion is not why Wisler and Blair suck. They suck because they don't have MLB stuff. They are AAAA aces.
