Acuna has a BABIP of over .400 so far this season.

For 2018 I'd project a slash line of .270/.330/.450 at the major league level.

You bite your tongue. He will bat over .400 with 56 home runs and 180 RBIs with 70 SBs

I've been told we can count on Acuna for 8 WAR next year...

That OPS would put him in the top 30 in history for aged 20 season.

    Ted Williams 1.045
    Trout .9636
    Correa .857
    Heyward .849
    Stanton .833
    Cabrera .793

    are some notables.

Mike Trout had a BABIP of .390 as a 19-year-old in AA. .326 average.

His BABIP in his rookie year with the Angels was .383. .326 average.

Your projections frankly seem to be junk science.

Weren't those numbers in the neighborhood of many Dansby 2017 projections we saw?
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Ronald has never had an OBP as low as .330.

The last time his average was near .270 was as a 17-year-old in the GCL.

He is hitting .322 as a 19-year-old across 3 upper levels and showing constant improvement.

Very frustrating to see projections so low.

    Hitters hit.

Not mine. I am winning a bet that his OPS this year would be below .700.

Would you care to make a bet on his 2018 major league OPS?

I'd also be interested in bets on Acuna's 2018 BABIP and strikeout rate numbers in the majors.

His projection seems pretty reasonable, maybe a bit optimistic.

His steamer projection (yeah, a bit pessimistic) is .263/.316/.414. His 2016 season was .311/.387/.432 in A ball with a .359 BABIP.

I would guess .275/.320/.430..........and it would be a damn fine season for a 20 year old.

I assume that you are allowing for six times that umps ring him up on bad calls for the strikeouts, and that the .628 also assumes a few bad calls at first, where the umps made up their minds early, not anticipating his FV81 speed. (The Bravos would challenge some of these, but the politburo in NY has proven that they still miss plenty.)

Everyone predicting mediocre slash lines next year. Two people ITT have guessed .270/.330 and .275/.320.

If he doesn't hit .300+, I'll be more than shocked.
