Gohara looked horrible. Hopefully he'll adjust to better competition and come back better next outing.

Ehhh... he looked great his first 3 innings and then something went bad. He struggled in his first AA start then bounced back to be very good... I'll wait for a few more starts to reserve judgement. Was hitting the upper 90s which is encouraging, with a nasty slider.

I was told pitchers control improved as they were promoted and encountered better umpires.

Adversity leads to adjustments. I don't mind the aggressive promoting. You have to weed out the men from the boys. When you baby kids that's what you end up with.

You cannot look at the calendar as the principal timetable for Gohara. He has made 67 professional starts, thrown 300 innings, plus did a successful stint in the AFL.

I get why he was promoted ahead of Soroka. That doesn't mean Soroka doesn't get promoted at some point. Neither club is in a playoff push, so there's no circumstance that would add any urgency.
