Bellinger didn't hit a bad pitch. it was a bit more middle down when it was supposed to be out and down.. But jeez.. sometimes you have to say good job hitter..

There's not a wrong and right way about going about things but.... Things are certainly different with Hart/Coppolella then in the JS era. In the JS era, we would have NEVER gotten this kind of information that Hart is sorta giving now. I mean, some things ya know without it being said but still these guys are more open. In the JS era, we knew NOTHING.

President wouldn't have even talked with the announcers like this and in the rare times JS did, he said NOTHING. Lol. I remember some of them.

Hart not really giving the greatest endorsement of Albies. A lot of "we'll see" in regards to his future. Makes sense that the Braves have been willing to include him in trade talks.

Hmmm. I heard that they were open to sending him back down for more seasoning if needed, not that they were not very high on him.

Why do they not take into factor "age related to league"? I'm not listening (but watching) but still.

Even if he's not your prototypical guy that you want at 2nd (why not considering that they're old school?) you have to be flexible and let him prove that he can be a part of your core.

    In Game Hart interview summary:

Braves considered and discussed a lot of moves around the deadline, but kept their eye on the standings and ultimately decided that they were not ready to contend and that they didn't know enough about a lot of their young players to include them in deals.

Brandon Phillips would have been someone they were receptive to moving, but there just wasn't much need in the market at 2B and they didn't get a lot of interest. Obviously, it is a little bit of a difficult situation with Albies coming up but they intend on playing him at 3B some and that may be good for him as well if he can showcase that ability. But he ultimately understands that the organization needs to see Albies and that the Braves might look to move him in August if a situation arises.

Swanson remains a part of the organizations plans, but he was not hitting and Camargo was great defensively and playing well offensively. They think Camargo is developing a little power and can play three positions, though they don't know he has the power you would love at 3B.

Roster management going forward for Braves will be challenging as they have lots of young players who will need protection, but that's exciting for the organization as well. Mentioned specifically that they had some young players at high levels that might help the club but did not have to be added to the 40 man roster yet: Soroka and Acuna specifically.

3B has been a problem for them, but they have Austin Riley in pipeline who they just promoted and has good power. They'll have to see how he does.

There are a lot of young players coming, but they've been disappointed that they haven't had any bullpen help emerge this year. Cabrera and Minter have been up and down and have not forced the issue.

On starting pitching they know they need some outside help. Julio Teheran is not a #1 starter and is struggling, but they've seen him struggle before and rally and they think he can do it again. Lucas Sims had worked his way up the organization and they felt he had earned the shot. They liked his debut. Felt that he came in with a good presence and attitude on the mound that maybe some of the other players who had auditioned had not shown (think he means confidence and ability to keep composure).

Acuna is an exciting player. Everyone asked about him in deals, but they were not going to move him. They are leaning towards leaving him in the minors this year because he has advanced three levels and has been injured at times in the minors and because he is not someone they have to put on 40 man roster any time soon, but this is an in progress discussion.

Mentioned Alex Jackson as someone that would come to camp next year -- not sure why he singled him out, but he and Riley were the two guys he mentioned in that thought. I guess they are older.

    .....

Sort of interesting conversation. He sounded fully aware of service time / 40 man roster / rushing issues and I got the impression he wasn't necessarily fully behind moving the kids so quickly but the organization needed to start finding about some of these guys.

Not sure where the pressure to move Albies up came from, he didn't seem entirely sold.
