Logically we should allow them to run healthcare for every citizen.

There are costs associated with Public parks mainly that you deal with the interests of the public, but this was an extreme example that again pretty much no one outside of the administration thinks is a good thing.

Stossell has shown countless examples of stories just like this.

And without looking it up, I'd be willing to bet the US government spends more money on healthcare than any other country in the world

    And our system sucks.

And the solution is to let them spend more and have more control.

    LOL ok then

Our per capita public medical expenditures are the equivalent of Switzerland, so we could have potentially the same amount of coverage as the Swiss, but we don't and it's not because of government spending, if that was the case why wouldn't costs in Switzerland be higher?

In some examples yes, in others, no. I know in my town growing up they refurbed the Firehouse for much less than the firehouse was quoted by a private exec who insisted on the cost before the vote. What it comes down to is a number of things, in this case, NYC is a bureaucratic nightmare. And yes that is a great example of wasteful spending. But there's others that are push.

I take more issue with the design elements than the price-tag. If you're going to spend $2 million on a lavatory, hire a talented architect, make it nice.

My favorite part is when Stossell says "are all these meetings really neccessary?" And the bureaucrat enthusiastically says yes.

I take most issue with the guy calling them "comfort stations." Not sure which NYC he works/lives in.

The next go around it would be $4.9 and they'd tout the savings during re-election season
