    It's a legit question: Why isn't Albers a prospect?

Forget that he's 12-3 overall, Andrew Albers in July-August is merely 6-0, 0.98 in eight starts, walking eight against 59 strikeouts.

Yeah, he's 31 year old. but he's a lefty with control and guys liek that are gainfully employed with nearly every club.

I say give him a shot. If he does well you can keep evaluating him of maybe actually get trade value. Gotta be better than Sims

He isn't a legit prospect because he is 31. I feel like we have been over this many times with old players doing well at AAA. Could Albers potentially be a #5 starter or reliever? Sure, but 30 year olds are not prospects.

His fastball only runs in the mid to upper 80s. Unless you are Jamie Moyer or Tom Glavine that's pretty tough to pull off.

Now, if there was an opening it is a good question as to whether he or Medlen would be next up. Or Fried I guess. He might very well get the call based on merit.

He looked decent for the Twins back in 2013, but scuffled in the big leagues after that. Looks like he missed 2014 completely. Wonder if it was an arm injury.

Anyway, I wouldn't be opposed to giving him a look. I am realistic that he would likely be filler, but a reward for a job well done might be welcome.

He isn't a prospect....he's a journeyman. Doesn't mean he can't make any meaningful contributions at some point but a prospect isn't how I would describe him.

Because he is 31 years old and has thrown more than 50 innings in the majors.

He's the kind of AAAA arm that deserves a September call up.

I see nothing else he needs to prove in AAA. might as well see if you have some back end guy or BP guy that you can sign to a collmenter deal next season.

Well, on the bright side, the Braves can now afford to pay the SunTrust Park electric bill for July.

Funny hearing JOe and Chip wonder why he was traded on the telecast...

"Why isn't this guy in the future rotation plans. 12-2 my goodness"

They probably hadn't the slightest clue he existed until that graphic
