    Civil Rights Act 1964

Could someone explain to me why Blacks still vote Democrat when they are more conservative than their white counterparts and the passing the Bill was because of the Republicans?

Because the president was Democrat when his own party tried to stonewall him in the process?

If my parents and those of that generation believe the president was the only one responsible, the Democrats pulled a fast one back then and reaping the benefits of it today.

I wonder if a Republican president did that with a full backing of the Republicans (80% then), what would the Democrat party look like today?

By seeing their actions in reference to blacks or lack there of, there would be a lot of Democrat White Supremacist today.

So explain to me why 80% to 60% including the Southern Dixie Democrats in Republican favor?

    Per Mossy

Notice the crickets from our Liberal friends when confronted with facts not originating from MSNBC news? Democrats and Liberals will be very happy to deflect from what really happened behind the Civil Rights Act of 1964. #WhitePower - Democrats of 1960's

AA, my understanding is that it was less Dem / Repub, and more North / South that carried that Bill. The Southern block of states were vehemently against it, regardless of party. The Northern Dems were nearly unanimously for it. There was still a lot of lobbying to get enough Republican swing votes in the North. (Full disclosure, I'm purely commenting from what I read on Wikipedia, as I'm certainly not an expert here.)
