To be fair, he was only at 80 pitches.

What I do know is when these guys get to Atlanta they end up throwing significantly softer than the prospect reports claim. Newk was billed as a 95-97 monster who now averages 93. Sims was supposedly a 95+ guy who now averages 91. Fried was reportedly in the upper 90s earlier this year and impressing everyone, now he's around 93 out of the BP when he can let it fly for 1-2 innings.

So yes, Allard probably does average 90 MPH because his scouting report says "His fastball will sit in the low-90s, with the ability to reach back for a little more when needed."

Do you have some other data I've never seen? Or is this just another post of yours with nothing to contribute other than a contrarian comment?
You basically toss out a prospect over one velocity report from one game, and then you jump on me for contributing nothing other than a contrarian comment? Lulz.

And where were you getting your scouting reports?
Here's one from the day Sims was promoted to Atlanta saying he usually sits 91 or 92 on his fastball - https://www.talkingchop.com/2017/7/3...r-league-debut. Where has he been in Atlanta? 91 or 92.

Here's one from 6 months ago on Newcomb that said he had worked 92-95 in the past and had dropped to 90-93 as he was working on command - https://tomahawktake.com/2017/02/06/...ean-newcomb/2/. Where has he been in Atlanta? 93-94. And even in Atlanta, he has touched 97 plenty.

Welcome to the wonderful new world!!!

6 innings with a mid-3s ERA makes you a "stud", and if 60%+ of your starts are "quality starts", you're really solid.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
